My lightsabers & blasters thread (Compac Super Scope)

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

The last kit for the Jedi training remote arrived today and very ahead of schedule. Now I just need to pick up casting and molding supplies and figure out how to do that.

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

Didn't get around to posting this yesterday but I purchased and received a real M9 flash hider aka the Greedo Killer flash hider. It's awesome, I love real parts. I also ordered a Weaver K3 scope because it was really cheap, but the small lens is broken. Not that big of a deal, as I plan to remove the lens and replace it. The scope is a little bit longer than the correct scope so I may try to cut it down to the correct length if I can get a measurement. I've also ordered the scope rings but I don't expect they'll arrive for a while. Does anyone know where I could pick up a gk scope mount?

A few pics with the gk flash hider next to the ANH flash hider from Todd's Costumes.

Looks like I'm going to need to make a spacer for the gk flash hider to fit to the end of a Mauser.

And some pics of the scope I bought.

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

Big delivery today and a couple weeks ahead of what I thought it would be. The Anovos Stormtrooper kit I ordered arrived. Actually it should have arrived last week but Anovos made the delivery signature required and I was not able to be home when the Fedex truck came so I had to wait a week for them to deliver to a store, super annoying.

I dug through the box and at first glance it all looks pretty nice. I haven't had time for a thorough inspection. I've pulled out the helmet and there are some things that need to fixed I can see right away. The eye holes are a bit messy in the shape they are cut. The inner adjustable head bracket and eye glass is attached with adhesive backed velcro which is already coming off. I'm going to pull out the eye glass and head bracket and reattach the velcro and hopefully the adhesive will cure, otherwise I'm going to have to figure another way to attach it. I'm not in any rush to cut out my armor and put it together, so I'm going to do my homework and do it right. So if anyone has any tips or links they want to throw my way it would be much appreciated. I've never worked on armor before.

Hey no problem, this forum is for asking.

I've got two threads for you, there is good another one but I can't find it at the moment but these should give you quite a bit of info.

1. This is info on the MPP Microflash which is the correct flash for both ANH and ESB Vader lightsaber. They are very rare and really expensive which is why so many people use a nearly identical Heiland.

2. This one is about parts that Roy from Wannawanga.com makes for lightsaber, including parts needed to convert a Heiland into a MPP look-a-like. Also check out his goodies section, he has some blueprints of the ESB Vader saber he made.
http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=243727

Here is a quick summary of the differences.

ANH
Number and length of the t-track grips is 7 grips about 4 inches in length
Exactra bubble strip for the switch only
no wires
silver sidebars on clamp

ESB
Number and length of the t-track grips is 6 and about 5 inches in length
Exactra bubble strip and the circuit board under the bubbles
wires in the top holes
black sidebars on clamp

Awesome! Thank you so much for this info

If you love the Vader hilt you'll love this thread. It may be my favorite thread on the entire forum. It's the "discovery" of the actual ESB/ROTJ Vader lightsaber hero prop at a Pennsylvania casino in 2008. Make yourself some popcorn and enjoy:

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

Thanks for posting the high res pics of Todds flashhider!

It seems that the TC hider is simplified with the regards to the cutouts at the rear end.
The original as well as DECs flashhider has bullet-shaped cutouts while TCs hider has just rounded ends....different type of cutter/ mill.

Might be an issue for the accuracy-freaks, but still unbeatable for that price

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

So I received a couple things for my V2 that I'm on a list for a while back. The stencil and the lever. I also snagged another Heiland for a Vader ANH saber and ordered a clamp from TCSS. I went to order the shroud from Roy, but it's no longer up on his site. Anyone know if he's going to get more made?

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

Parts are selling like crazy, but Roy shroud is awesome. I'm sure (I hope) he will put it back up once he gets more. I'm sure he will make an annoucement.

Did you ever cast the tank parts? Making molds is pretty easy, I've done a couple little prototypes I've made, I'm no master but even my first molds came out pretty good

I just messaged Roy and he said that the he isn't going to make any more for now due to shipping and paint problems. He said he may make more next year but isn't for sure at this time. So that's a bummer. I guess I'm stuck with this shroud that came on the Heiland for now, it's pretty inaccurate. I ordered the rest of the parts to finish this light saber minus the shroud.

I have not cast any of the tank parts yet, that project is next after I finish weathering my Falcon. So I may start that in a week or two.

Re: My on going lightsabers and blasters thread

Oh that is a bummer! I heard that someone might be doing a vader run next so I have my fingers crossed. Thats all I can say because I dont want to start a rumor I didnt hear from the person themselves
