The Video Game Thread - anything and everything...

After a lot of research I got myself an arcade joystick.

eTokki Omni - I like it because it has a Korean-style Taeyoung Fanta joystick and Sanwa buttons. I also like that it's not covered with gaudy graphics or weird designs.

The stick just needs a little more breaking in. I'm using it with New Retro Arcade on Oculus for the pure arcade experience. My wife loves playing Ms. Pacman ona virtual standup machine through Oculus. I'm playing fighting games, of course. Boy am I rusty.

I'm impressed by how much performance they can squeeze out of the hardware. Takes some fiddling to get video to stream smooth, but otherwise easy to setup and start using.

yes. was fun to build. took some time to get everything working as should but it ran all day long today with lots of fun and laughing kids, makes it worth it. recommend one to game lovers anytime. cheap and good fun.

I still have Spider-man 1 & 2 for the ps1,just in case I want to do some webslinging,webb-up a few bankrobbers and fight Electro again on the roof of a skyscraper.
That being said,my favorites have to be Metal Gear Solid 1 and Tenchu Stealth Assassins just for the storyline itself.

Just a few weeks ago I had been playing GTA 5. Well, I got to 100%, but the trophie didn't pop. Found out its a glitched one and the only real way to fix it, is to load a save before getting to 100% and getting to it that way. Well, my only save before that was like at 85%. I was like, forget doing all that again.
Maybe sometime in the future, like years, I might decided to go try again, but at 99% I'm making like 3 save files.

I got 100% last night; well their 100%. I think I missed the random event for the auto dealer since you have to do it very early, one armored car that NEVER popped up, the two submarine missions, and the Epsilon Program. I had just played the vanilla game about a month ago and did the whole Epsilon thing, so I wasn't eager to do it again. That's another complaint. They make a mission where you have to run for miles in the desert. That is so ***** tedious! Anyway I got a 100% tshirt I won't use because I beat the game, and there's one more mission that popped up, which I think is something about Bigfoot.

:lol it's blocked me from writing "f 'ng" Just those four characters, not even the whole word!

I didn't get anything for getting to 100%. That last mission didn't even come up for me, but my file says 100%. Pretty annoying.
So last night I actually starting playing Final Fantasy 12 HD on PS4. Not my favorite one, but I liked all you could do in it, just the story itself was kinda weak.

I think it's only for Franklin and some people said it can take up to a month in game to show up. Really it's not that exciting.

Has anyone here played Detroit Become Human? I'm on my second play through and I was really quiet surprised that no one has really talked about it here. I suppose props-wise there isn't much but the costumes would be cool to see in real life. I really dig the art style of the game in general.

I never really got into PC games that much or FPS much either. But one I always like was the Serious Sam games. There ridiculous over the top sillyness and waves of bad guys to kill. Although part 2 wasn't nearly as good. But I was excited to see part 4 pics and small trailer that just came out. Looks pretty insane and really realistic. Although my PC probably won't be able to run it very good.

Has anyone played Civilization V? Im wondering if I should get it, cause I like that type of game, but never played any of the Civilization titles.

Not extensively, but I own it. I don't love it, mostly because of some poor design choices (one unit per tile).

So pumped for The Last of Us Part II. Naughty Dog is my favorite developer and that gameplay looks insane. It's cool that they have added all sorts of new gameplay options (like hiding under trucks!). I'd still prefer a new Uncharted game over this, but alas, that ship seems to have sailed.

Spider-Man and Cyberpunk 2077 look amazing as well.

If you were to introduce someone to Civilization, which one would you suggest? Which is your favorite?

Ghost of Tsushima looks great, a little scripted but damn if i don't need to get myself a PS4 now:behave

I was really hoping for some more big VR titles to be announced though.
