A question. I have just has a plaster of Paris head cast done so I could work on appliances.

My question is do I need to coat or seal the thing, before I start using latex on it? And if I do.. What should I use?

Thanks..

I'm not sure what you mean about putting latex on the head cast. Are you trying to do this sort of thing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtSwTu535TQ

If that's the case, then you don't need to seal it. You're actually making use of the porosity of the plaster to dry the latex.

Most of the time, folks want to sculpt with clay on the lifecast, mold that, and cast prosthetics from those molds.

For future projects, Plaster of Paris is not an ideal material for head casts, as it is a very weak plaster. Hydrocal or Ultracal are preferable, depending on the use. :)
