Does foam armor hold up to making mother molds?

Sorry if this is the wrong spot.

I am currently making iron mans armor out of foam. I have seen xrobot guy on youtube make a mother mold from his original iron man foam armor. Will the foam parts hold up well? Still in the process of putting foam together, but I am thinking long term for this project. In case I do decide to make molds of my armor and cast them in resin.

Can't see why not. I made none of cardboard and then silicone moulded it and made mother molds for the silicone. Worked a treat. Just seal the foam properly so the silicone doesn't get absorbed if it's a porous foam
