What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

I making a few real steel. Can anyone guess what movie this knife is from? Both the handle and blade will be black.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I have a few things on deck.
Two Uncharted Drake's Fortune journals (doing a light tracing onto my pages and then using india ink for the main color and other inks for the other colors.

1:537 scale refit Enterprise and USS Reliant. Both will be fully lit and have some stage of battle damage from the film, although I haven't decided exactly what level yet. (I'm also accurizing the enterprise as it's not accurate enough. NEITHER will have lit warp drives as they didn't during their encounters.

Replica Colt 1851 navy revolver, while it's technically in a functional state, I have ZERO intention of using it as such. I'm going to buy replica snakes (like the ones Clint Eastwood had in his films) and add them to the grips and it's getting placed under glass. The finish on the gun needs redone anyway as it's not in the greatest shape so it'll be re-blued before I do all of that. While it won't TECHNICALLY be an accurate representation of the revolver from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.. most people glancing at it will never notice that it's not a cartridge conversion.

they look great but i dont know much about paintball guns but are those still functional or just for display?

Thanks. They can’t be used for paintball as I’ve plugged the holes for the gas and balls which gave it away as a paintball gun. But they still cock and dry-fire which is cool. They even have a little kick from the recoil of the spring.

Re: What's on your workbench?

The wife has been bugging me to display her Harry Potter wands, so I designed a miniature hand that I will cast in mostly rubber and part resin, the resin will fit partly inside the wrist and palm to hold the screw for fixing to some wood

i made a clay hand, then a rubber mold, then a resin copy, I’m now at the stage of cleaning it up and adding more detail before I recast it in rubber,
This is my first attempt ever at sculpting, up to now the wife seems happy ( phew )

Hi. Brand new to this site, and to cosplay/prop-making, and I gotta say I'm so impressed by all your work.

Anyway, I've not shown anyone my work before so here goes. These are my first two pieces I've ever made and learning so much as I'm making (making mistakes).

NCR Ranger (Fallout: New Vegas) chest-plate and gas-mask.

PS: So bloody envious of all your workshops.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I'm experimenting using EVA foam, never built with it before, but it's fun, fast, easy and cheap. I only had 10mm EVA mats, but it works for these test builds. I've done a lot of molding, casting, glassing, bondo and rondo, so this is a nice easy change and some of the results can be impressive. Mine are just quick fun builds, but still look fine by my standards for fast builds.

Re: What's on your workbench?

My 3D printers were idle for a moment, so I decided I needed one of these:

It's been smoothed out a bit since this pic, but you get the idea:

I'm also just about done with this guy:

At this point I just have to pad it out and perfect my scowl:

That, and choose a badge.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Been working on the key from Uncharted 4, seen for a few seconds in chapter 19.
Styrene sheet and tubing with a little bit of Aves epoxy sculpt.
