What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

At the moment, I've decided to make my Xenomorph (Fluffy) a new head as I was never pleased with the old one. The proportions were off, the mechanism was stiff and unreliable etc. So this time, it'll be lighter and I'll be adding better animatronics and the addition of the tongue!

It's early days yet, but...

Re: What's on your workbench?

Currently still working on my Vader reveal project, custom Sabers, my own design blaster, Reys saber comp, but I thought I would throw in the mix a couple of 6 foot wall hangers
House of Stark banners, just looking for some haberdashery green frill for the edges, I don’t know why I’m doing these I just thought, why not !!!

I’m also going to try and make the jokers cane/walking stick from Suicide Squad, I already had the cane/walking stick, it just needs a lot of work

One ugly fugger... face hugger, that is. Had this old crap Thai recast for about as long as I can remember. Unfortunately the lower half of the tail was ruined in storage. Decided to go for a look where a predator had sliced off a few fingers and the end of the tail. Have to add nails, curve and gore up the tail, and then mock up a base with some faux melting.

(I know Alien blood is green, but until I find a solution that is long lasting and doesn’t look horrible, she shall have the bloodiest red of blood.) :lol

More Giger goodness on my work bench. WIP (re)paint up of a Black Heart Model’s Alien Warrior kit.

I had painted it up before the move to LA and working in a few fx shops. One of which was ADI who took over the Aliens for 3-AVPR. Now that I’m back in Florida I had to give it a go again, here it was before.

Your weathering look amazing.
Are you keeping the three feet?

Originally, I was going to make a base for to sit in, but I wanted something a little more placement flexible.

I still have not weathered mine and this has inspired me to do so.

I added 2x 2.5kg weights inside the base of the bottom half of the main ball. Now it free stands on any surface. If it gets knocked, it rocks a bit and stands back up.

That’s a brilliant idea! And I even have a spare set of free-weights kicking around that I can use. Thanks for sharing your ingenuity. [emoji1360][emoji4]

Re: What's on your workbench?

Well it is off the bench now, but I decided I needed a display for my Reebok Stompers.

The tile design came from an Alien themed night club in Germany (?) and was one of my first 3D models. Once drawn and converted to a DXF, the master was laser cut from 25mm MDF.

A glove mold was made and backed up with a fibre glass jacket, except it was never great and casts appear to have warped, do the jacket will need to be redone.

The tile was an experiment using a sand with epoxy mix. Problems was, it looked like wet sand. So a paint job gave it the look of corroded metal.

The stand is square tube aluminium with plastic joiners, some 10mm perspex and a safety step edge I found at Bunnings for 7 bucks. The WY logo cost $1.30 but I should have had it laminated.

The alien drool is flexible polyurethane that I mixed up air into. Normally I am trying to get the bubbled out, not mix them in.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Molding masters of the TDK suit. All of the pieces originated from the Hells Kitchen suit which I obtained in a trade a few weeks ago. This is the ab section and a resin copy I made to clean up and redo.
