Definitive Ant-Man 2015 Costume Thread

Hey Techniichan,

I also ordered from X-Coser, I just opened my shipment today. Here's some pics. I found the belt and the gloves were pretty much useless. In a pinch I might still use the belt and just re-paint it and add some pieces to it. But I had planned around not-using the belt and gloves from X-Coser before ordering.

I recently received my costume. The gloves fit well, but are wide around my wrists. Here's my brief pros/cons list for Xcoser:

Pros
  • WYSISWG. Everything pictured on their website is exactly how it was made.
  • Arrived within a week, expected arrival was within a month.

Cons
  • Custom body measurements were not used. My body measurements match a size small, but received a larger size (costume is very loose). It fits, but not to my preferred expectations.
  • Belt and wristbands were damaged in packaging, but can be easily repaired since it's craft foam.

At least bigger is better then the alternative, Can always make it smaller. Mine was too small so I had to make some customization's and let things out to just barely fit haha

Just thought I would comment here my best friend in I threw together a Ant-Man and The Wasp costume in just under a month. What do you guys think? I have sources for all the leather, suits, and 3d files for all the armor and add ons.

I just recently finished my own suit and wore to a nearby con. What do you guys think? I know they are not movie accurate but we worked with what we had and could afford, plus Yellowjacket was put together in 2 weeks.

Very cool. Nice work.

Your Antman belt looks really nice. What did you make it out of?

It's actually just craft foam attached to some 2.5" elastic. For an added bonus I made some tubes and added some water, red food coloring, clear school glue, and some glitter to make a quick pull out Pym particles. All of the pieces attached to the suit are made of foam including the helmet.

Hello everbody

Am currently also at an ant-man costume. Some I have already completed. In addition to the suit and the helmet, I put all her own.

Incidentally, I have now completed my helmet.
The visor can be opened.
For stability reasons, I have the helmet reinforced with fiberglass. In addition, I have revised some questions.
I had the helmet in those days Extra unpainted purchased and to be free in the design.

Hi guys, I just wanted to share some pictures of my Ant-Man build. I sculpted the helmet from scratch and the suit is still a work in progress but I think it's looking pretty fly!

Can anyone point me in the direction of the belt pouches, and some ideas for lenses in the eyes? I used ref lighting gels and hot-glued them in. They work OK, but have creases which I would rather get rid of.

Here is my build thread if anyone wants to see the sculpting/moulding process: https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Wellington Ant-Man

Cheers
Kev

Anyone have a good way of attaching the tubing? I'm planning on using polyethylene tubing but am not sure how to go about actually adhering it to the suit. Any ideas?

Yes, your backpack and belt look amazing - did you use worbla over the foam to give it that nice surface, or did you seal it with something else?

Hello Bigkilo

sorry for my lat answer.

my current tubes I've made from a spring. This I have bent to the desired shape. My first hoses were made of plastic, however, I was so not so satisfied.

The tubes are fixed to the backpack. The connection to the helmet holds a magnet. Since the pipes are metal, holds the very good.

For my parts like belt and Backpack is nothing Worbla or Foam. All over the suit are only 3 parts Worbla. I work almost exclusively with Forrex. This is a PVC. One need but depending thick a table circular saw.
