I guess that missile in the face and the ensuing explosion wasn't enough to kill him? Unless of course it's his twin or his twin died in the finale or it was an alien shape-shifter or Carter just can't let go of certain things and move forward?

Could be fox not simply assuming it will work and giving them 6 guaranteed eps to see if they can recapture it or if it's worth continuing. Will it wrap up anything? hard to say. Hopefully it's encapsulated so people aren't left hanging if it's not continued.

My biggest hope is that somehow it undoes that last movie.
 
According to Carter the plan was to do three movies with the third being released prior to December 2012 and wrapping the story up. Due to the poor performance of I Want to Believe, that didn't happen. Still wanting to do the movie, Carter did have a plan to address the fact that the invasion deadline passed. Somehow the project moved to tv. But if that's the case, I would think 6 episodes would be enough to tie it up.
 
I agree the second movie sucked 2 headed dogs. but "6 stories" is whats bothering me big time. as I said before its gonna just get started then be over....then what.......!?!?! unless this is gonna be a miniseries that builds to a 3rd movie??

I really did not want to see him back, it was such a great, and seemingly final send off, to reverse it now seems unbelievably cheap.
 
Vancouver is where the show belongs. The move to California killed the mood. No amount of film grain and (horrible) oboe-based music could make up for the grey mists up there. I'm also glad to have CSM in it. So what if he "died"! It just adds to the mythology that the guys can't be killed, Morley's be damned. I do hope they at least devote 1-2 eps to tie up the invasion plotline because it seems stupid to just leave it unresolved.

I want this to be good so badly, but I am really trying to temper my expectations. Have they given any indication on how this will be released, i.e. will it air on "regular" television?
 
I don't understand the hate for I Want to Believe. I think it was a good movie. Maybe not what people were used to, but taken on its own merits instead of in the context from the series, it's a good movie.

I agree mate,i enjoyed the last film you can't expect the conspiracy plot forever!.....
