And coming soon, a 1/48 scale snowspeeder and 1/12 scale speeder bike.
That should put the Ebay $100 Fine Molds snowspeeder to bed!

J, any opinions on how it compares to the Fine Molds kit? I have that one already... and if you've seen one Snowspeeder, you've seen them all - right?

(I just saw Yorkie Fett's remark - is that true? FM Snowspeeders for $100 USD? That is nuts!! With fruit!!)

Check out the FM snowspeeders on EBay, crazy prices.
Bandai version is apparently out in May.

"Bandai's assault on the "Star Wars" universe continues with their 1/48-scale Snowspeeder! Molded in color, it features snapfit construction for ease of assembly, and it comes with pilot and gunner figures, laser effect parts, two different clear canopy parts (one with a window frame and one without), harpoon parts, parts to replicate opened air brakes, and a Hoth-style display base. Order today and join the fight to keep the Imperials at bay!"

The Bandai kits (Snowspeeder included) are like $16 at hobby link Japan. Even with shipping to the States I'll bet they're less than what you'd pay a retailer for them here...

Let me answer this one. Finemolds snowspeeder is ok. Its biggest fault is the bottom front vent. I hope and I believed Bandai will try to replicate every details that exist in the studio models. I gave my 3 boxes of Finemolds Snowspeeder to my son after I pre-ordered the Bandai version.

To Canada, $31 all in with shipping for the AT-ST. That, incidentally, is cheaper than you can find the crappiest Revell snap-tite starfighters at ANY brick and mortar. I don't know how that works, but I LIKE IT! The only problem is endlessly refreshing HLJ to see if Bandai has added a Stardestroyer yet.

Check out the prices on the 1/72 Falcon!!! You will need to mortgage your house........
I guess the message is, don't dawdle. If you think you might even look inside the box once, let alone build them, then buy now and don't wait for the prices to rise.
Oh and BTW, I have some in the post and some on pre-order

PLEASE!!! Please, Bandai, my old friend, upscale the Y-Wing & anything else that looks viable! At least the Y-Wing has never been done previously in the scale, so absolutely no competition!

Prayers for good 1:48 scale kits continue, with a Vulcan at the top of the list...

Your best resource to obtain Japan domestic kit releases (like many of the Bandai kits - they take a while to get to the rest of the world's distribution systems...) would be Hobby Link Japan: http://www.hlj.com/

Righty-O! AT-ST has arrived, nice looking kit! One question - does anyone here read...Japanese? Heh-heh...honestly hadn't thought that through all the way; the instructions are straightforward...I think...but the real question is what are the paint mixes Bandai is recommending?! Clearly something mixed 45% with....something else...for the hull, but would anyone be willing to translate their paint recommendations on this kit?

The number of huge model submarines and ships that are over 4 feet long, yet no company seems interested in making a nice big star destroyer!

    Keith.
Don't. Remind. Me. Bandai had my money up to $600, no questions asked, for that sample they had on display. One of the most iconic ships in one of the most important film series of all time and while we've seen X-Wing and Falcons in every conceivable scale from every conceivable manufacturer, we're stuck with a badly-engineered, badly-innaccurate-in-every-way, teeny-tiny mold from 1980. Just, what, the actual f8k is that all about?

I'm waited for mine to arrive. I haven't done "models" in forever. They look like they've gotten so much more user friendly. Looking forward to getting my bandai kits.

ID:	451064The at St is quite complex,it's basicly slip or clip into place,I put mine together within couple hours or so and the only areas I used any glue were on the lower legs.the sprue attachment points are located on the part edge and not hidden so careful clipping/sanding is required.it has optional open hatch and (eyes) view ports.articulation is not there on the legs, they are in a pose/posture but the real area it moves is at the neck, the connection between head and body.the weapons are also fixed position.

its a brilliant kit, bandai utilised its knowledge from its glueless kits and put it to brilliant use,I am not expert on as scale but just casting ones eyes over it,the kit is really sharp and well detailed and looks the part.

i have not done any scifi for ages and this kit saw my return and it was and is a pleasure so far.

The AT-ST model is fantastic. Lots of detail...alost too much detail!
I finished building mine today. I adjusted the kits standing pose to the way i liked it by trimming off a few pegs here and there and then glued the legs in position.
I am not using the horrible stand that comes with the kit. It stands up fine on its own.

I have three more AT-ST's on the way for different poses.

Awesome! I love the idea of the walker squatting to allow for boarding the crew. I hope they design an AT-AT with a similar idea in mind.

AT-ST ? Took me an hour for a from the box build. My second at-st will take a lot more time (several days) to correct everything that's wrong and get it as close as the original gomo models.
