1/144th Prometheus scratch build

Am I the only one who seems to enjoy the building process and problem solving more than anything else ?

Good to see you back in action !

Wish you well

Whoosh!
love your long posts with great pictures and real progress! Would love more, if your hand would be great again and produce wheels and modells with ease...
Take care snd keep it coming!

Almost nothing more depressing than an ER room in the middle of the night.

Love the post and the new vac table looks like a winner. Looking forward to seeing how your first pieces come out.

Chin up, every day is an adventure -we're all rooting for you.

Although i dont post a lot, ive really been enjoying watching this come together, awesome inspiring Artwork, really cool :thumbsup

And photobucket strikes again. I f-ing hate photobucket. Anyway, this is coming along great. What a project. Very impressed with the work....

Well, a jolly good evening to everyone out there in RPF land

Said i was back last time but i lied

But this time i'm back or i could be lying again it just depends on work and stuff

This is going to be really picture heavy as i explain what I've been up to

So here goes

axp6CGy.jpg

I think i had just started skinning the flaps last time

I had been meaning to re do the model room for some time
It was full of stuff and very disorganised and didn't inspire me at all

So, i removed everything out onto the landing and ripped up the carpet

painted the bare concrete floor

Started by creating a new desk area

kp1NRFB.jpg

Including a new corner spray booth

5VtdMGc.jpg

with 2 new extractor fans

Laid out all my tools after a good sort through

So, now it was ready for some action

This is what we were working on, the external details on the flaps

povCJef.jpg

there are two of these on each engine and i decided to split them into inner and outer versions

mainly because i could find four of somethings but not eight

as usual i made the first test single, then the other seven caught up

These will end up as gratings for the light holes, two per flap

Now in the process of covering and assembling each flap

including two yellow lights in the tip, one white half way up and a red in the top

Not as picture heavy as i thought

Thats it for now be back soon

Cheers
