Bigbat23's Arkham Origins "inspired" foam build

Hey, great build so far, cowl looks great and the torso is brilliant looking. Just wanted to ask, the water and wood glue, do use that to seal the foam? And to what ratio? Thanks.

Thank you! Yes the water and wood glue mixture is to seal the foam. The ratio is 3 parts glue to 1 part water. After you've done it a few times you can just eye it.

Okay, I made some progress on this build finally. Got the chest and rib cage armor parts all painted and glued together. I think it looks good. I also started on the belt with templates from thefoamcave. I tried one per their instructions then I did one with a few mods. More to come.

Phenomenal work. It's hard to believe people get such great results with foam.

Edit: Just thought my tone might've come across as arrogant. Nothing against foam or people who use it, of course. I've tried foam and had middling results.

How do you sand and shape the edges so good? What tools, techniques ?

I use a Dremmel to sand the edges. A tip I learned was to use the grinding stone to grind the sanding wheel down a bit, makes for smoother edges. I also started drawing guidelines and sand right up to the line.

Finished painting my belt. I don't like the canisters on the belt so I chose to do just pouches. The color of the belt is a bit boring so I chose a different color. I went with a copper metallic Plasti-Dip, think it looks good.

Just finished the second shoulder armor piece, so I will be attaching it to the harness and chest armor shortly.
