I have always wanted to make a replica of this prop and I'm finally getting to it. After about 4 hours of measuring photos of the screen used prop that was sold to a private party I have finally got the hardest part of the pattern done.

Love to hear feedback from the Shawshank fans :)

So...what you're saying is "Interest Thread Cometh and that Right soon?" ;)

If so, count me in. I'm sure this pattern is tedious work, but it's looking great so far!

Thanks Scott! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

I'm going pixel by pixel with the screen used piece to create a spot-on match to the real prop. I have the correct cross stitch thread count nailed down, now I just need to find someone that still makes the same color in that count. My goal is to make this the definitive piece when done :)

Thanks, Luke!

I'm officially re-naming this project "ssdesigner's arthritis cometh..." :wacko

I'm about 9 hours worth of drawing X's into this and couldn't be happier with the results thus far. So, time for a progress pic:

I'm finally at the point now where I think I can begin cross stitching....well, as soon as I find this pesky fabric :p

Here is an overall picture of my pattern next to the screen used piece:

Update:

I finally found the correct fabric used for this prop. I've ordered enough to do two of these for now and I will be posting pics as soon as I have the fabric and begin working on the first one.

Looks great and can't wait to see one finished up :thumbsup

p.s. please order more fabric when these turn out as amazing as we all hope :)
