Game of Thrones inspired Dragon Skull 2014 Jun-Jul Sculpture Contest Entry

Hey Gang!

Im pumped to finally enter this contest and I have been waiting to sculpt a dragon skull for a long time.

Ive decided to go with the Game of Thrones version because its the most current and i really like the design personally.

This will be my third major sculpting project and every time it gets more fun! I plan on molding this bad boy when its finished so stay tuned after the contest for more progress.

I was able to whip to together some sketches using overlays on images found online of the specific dragon i want to create the skull for. check it out!

Check out the armature/ wire frame I welded to sculpt this beast!

Was able to start tossing some clay up on the frame. Just starting with one side at this point. Upper skull first then the lower jaw.

Got to clay up the other side of the upper skull today. I'm going to balance everything out and do the first layer of detailing!

Got allot done today! Evened out the upper skull and did some form detailing. Also started on the lower jaw! I think I'm going to remove the large horns to work on them sepret because the tend to sag... Hope to be in to minor detail by the end of the week!

Got to the first layer of detailing and it's starting to really come together! I also took the large horns off and started working in them sepretly then re-attached them.

First layer of heavy detail finished! Now it's time to alcohol smooth everything and get really detailed! I'm working on the larger horns seperatly for now and will attach later.

That's the plan Rick, might do a kickstarter campaign to raise the funds for molding this sucker. I will post my plans as they unfold.
