Ferris Bueller home finally sells

After being listed multiple[le times for much higher prices, the Chicago area home featured in the 1986 film, “Ferris Buellers Day Off” has sold for $1.06 million dollars, which is half the original asking price.

The 5,300-square-foot house has two separate sections, the four-bedroom main house built in 1953, and the smaller building, completed in 1974. That portion of the home was featured in the movie as the garage where the father of Ferris’ friend Cameron kept his ’61 red Ferrari convertible.

The Rose’s originally had the home listed for $2.3 million in 2009 and later reduced that amount to $1.8 million and then later to $1.65 million before coming off the market in 2011.

In August of 2013 the Rose family relisted the property for $1.5 million and later lowered the asking price to $1.375 million, $1.275 million and $1.25 million before finally going under contract in January 2014 and selling for $1.06 million.

Movie homes just don't have that cache anymore.

Pahonu, aka the anderson estate from the series Magnum PI is still on the market.

if I had the money I would snap it up in a minute

So the same property included where the Ferrari did the triple-half-gainer into the ravine? Wow, I always assumed that was somewhere else...
