ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

I'm gonna need a second job after all the new announcements. There I was debating getting General Merrick helmet and now I've got a bunch of new temptations. Went for the Death Trooper Specialist even though I got the first one. Love the lights and range finder.

Yeah, I bought a Deathtrooper made by somebody else because it had lights but I'm not super happy with it. I might have to sell it and bite the bullet on the Anovos specialist.

Disappointing in that they waited a YEAR to make the Deathtrooper helmet with the lights. Given the opportunity, they'd have sold a lot more of those last year if they were offered. Would love one, but since i have the original, i'm not paying 700, essentially for lights :)

Come on OT pilot helmets!

Emperor Robe
Royal Guard
Complete Biker Scout (and or helmet)

Lots there and they'll make just as much, if not more than a R1, Han Solo, or E7/8 stuff.

so i am about to jump on ordering the stormtrooper commander and imperial shock trooper helmets from ANOVOS using the 10% off SDCC coupon. it seems people are pretty happy with the quality of these and i like the having the LE runs of 300/400 for these. any other things i should be thinking of before i buy? i think these 2 together will look nice on display. thanks.

These are based off of the actual helmets (unlike say the Hasbro ST) so don't freak out when you try to put it on and it is asymmetric. :)

thanks! i am looking more for screen accuracy and display rather than actually wearing for a costume, so if these are pretty close to the actual props, i would be very pleased. :)

So looks like we're getting a Sabine helmet and All-in-one (Boba/Jango) jetpack kit according to SDCC panel.

I just placed an order for the Anovos Shoretrooper Helmet, as well as the Shoretrooper Armor kit. Now begins the long wait for the armor kit (The helmet is in stock and I assume it will be delivered in a few weeks or so). ;) I hope the Boba Fett jetpack at SDCC 2017 is hinting at anovos offering a full Boba Fett kit in the near future.

EDIT: I just remembered I still have to wait for the Shoretrooper soft goods to be released, hopefully they will be released within the next month or two.

If i had to guess, the Fett will be offered up in sections. Kind of like the (i think) the death trooper, and now FO trooper - where you can order the suit, but have to order the helmet separately. So, i'd guess at this point, that Fett will be Suit, Helmet, and Jetpack.

I think it's inaccurate to say "the 501st" as it implies that we all made some kind of universal unanimous decision. Rubber blasters are definitely more common than they were a few years ago, but these are costly and most members, especially starting out, don't care to put a whole lot of money into a blaster, especially since it's not even a required part of the costume to begin with. I'd argue that the more prevalent blaster is a modified hasbro, but a large number of blaster vendors are resin and now 3d printed, speaking about standard E-11s. Other blasters- DLT19s, BFGs, etc. are more commonly not made in rubber outside of Hyperfirm. These are still built in common materials.

It still irritates me that the modified Hasbros are accepted, but we're picky about the freaking type of screw on the ears of the helmet. Oy!

FWIW, I love the Hyperfirm blaster. I never carry my converted Sterling... looks too real, and it's HEAVY.

Well, it's not "accepted" because the 501st doesn't "accept" blasters. Members choose to get them

Although some regions may require weapons where local laws don't prevent them being carried, such as the UK Garrison who require blasters on Stormtroopers for example even though the CRL says optional.

Well, the UK garrison takes a lot of liberties in expanding their "authority" well beyond the scope of Legion's charter. I've already lost my detachment XO because UK leadership feels it could control a member's life outside of 501st duties.

So I don't currently have positive feelings toward the UK garrison at the moment

The blaster kit gets a brief rundown in this vid from Tested
