Captain America ebay stealth suit?

I was also thinking this was the better combination for off the shelf purchases. The one really nice thing about the galaxy fabric costume is that it's a one piece suit (probably making bathroom breaks a pain) thus eliminating all the issues with a short jacket that people have been experiencing. But overall the detail and quality of the cosplaysky costume is much better than anything else out there.
View attachment 407259 Left is galaxy fabrics/costume base. Right is cosplaysky. frankly what I would do is get the suit from cosplaysky and the accessories kit from galaxy.

View attachment 407261 Best of both that adds up to an awesome costume:)

I'm making my a onesie with a front zip. Easier to keep the shape you want and its looks more military. Oh thanks for the proportion link....huge help in making everything look right :)

The Lager Toys shields look good but pricey though 699USD & weighs ~8 kg

Red Omega,
I'm in the same search and you 've done a good summary.
You should include prices for people like us (always 300usd without shipping... Cost shipping is a problem when you live in France or Spain or Italy like me cause when you find a good product in USA you have to include shipping and duty taxes and wen you find a good product in UK near land they have bizarre duty taxes...etc).
For my case, I hesitate... Cause I don't know if I really can't find a good looking well option under 200usd. I hope one day I find the S.H.I.E.L.D. french tailor and I'll save money.

I have TheRocketeer's WS helmet and it's absolutely fantastic. I also have his TFA helmet that he did a couple of years ago. His work, without a doubt, is excellent and well worth the price. I really want to get one of his Smithsonian helmets as well, but maybe after the financial hemorrhage of the holidays.

Another aluminum metal shield option is made by King Arts and are supposed to ship at the end of the year/beginning of next year. It's the same price as the Lager Toys one ($699 US plus shipping which is estimated at $80) but the back is more screen accurate looking. They have regular, stealth and battle damaged options. Their US distributor is bigbadtoys.com. If you go the King Arts website, you can find their distributors for Europe and Asia.

Carrying a metal shield around a con for a full day is definitely a drag (I did it last year). Another light weight option over the off-the-shelf plastic shield is an airsoft shield that you paint yourself - Fly4v has an excellent thread describing his airsoft shield customization - it looks really amazing. And he has links where to buy one. I think this is going to be my next shield project.

Aguneg sells one, which looks good but...

one customer posted photos which looked bad.

And nother customer had similar problems.

Maulfet has one. Not sure how great the sculpt is and the carbon fiber looks too course

Hi Wemustrepeat yeah I initially was keen on a metal shield but then thought about the practically of lugging it around for a few days & doesn't seem like fun. Then I was thinking of the efx fibreglass one but at that price may as well get metal.

I think you are right though I may have to opt for the airsoft shield, I had been looking at it as a viable option. My painting skills are non-existant/ziltch/nada but Fly4v's thread is quite helpful, I might actually give it a shot. Thanks for the link.

As for the helmet I have been eyeing up Rocketeers helmet for a while that looks mint.

I'm waiting for Aguneg's helmet, I'm in Italy, I may post my impressions on it, as soon as it arrives. If might be of any help for You !

Alberto

Alberto, I will look forward to photos. The photos of the one he sent one customer clearly show that the one in the photos is not what the customer received.

Looks very different from what was promised:

http://www.therpf.com/f75/captain-america-winter-soldier-helmet-sculpture-clay-216306/?highlight=captain+america+helmet

And then there were issues with the buyer getting a refund. So I am hoping you have a successful transaction. If would renew my confidence in his product. In the mean time, The Rocketeer's helmet is looking like the best bet. Great feedback from customers.

I've seen TheRocketeer helmets up close, and they're spectacular. Look him up if you ever need a helmet.

For information, I know that the postman came with my stealth suit accesories from Galaxyfabric this morning (night for you my U.S. Friends who are still sleeping).
I would quit my job now...
I take photos tonight (afternoon for you) for people interested.

Photos would be nice!

I'm so happy!! It's christmas today! I take some photos of the wonderfull work of the seller named Galaxyfabric :

All is in leather or good "leather-like" and steel.
in fact, it's exactly like in their ebay's photos.
you can fit all (harness, belt) with "I don't find the english word maybe Velcro" like you see in the last photos
And in order to complete a past comment, I buy from Galaxyfabric but in my package today I find a greetings card signed Thecostumebase.com.
Gaiters are beautifull but they are tall (I don't hâve yet the right big boots so I can't give more precision). With my Salomon boots (who are big for town I mean), it's almost good.

Dams it's the same company or rather group of companies. looks great!! how to the gloves feel? I'm on the fence about buying them but w your pics I might just get them. :)

Gloves are good, they hâve good details. The thing you hâve to know is that they are for hands taller than mine I think (I'm a man but I don't play piano!).
My package was for M (my measures are 1,71m for 77kg) but I see that is also for S people (it's write on package) because There are many "velcro"part in order to adjust.
So, I wish a good night, it's late here and I have to go to sleep after all this pleasure.

The front looks good but, just from the photos, the back is awful.
The back 'spun' detail looks more like straight scratches.

Agreed the back does look terrible!! But might have to do for a cosplay situation as its lightweight the front looks good at least lol.

Mine arrived and quite happy of the overall packaging and finish! Fit is a bit tight on the width and a bit loose on the depth.
Have to figure out how to attach properly the chin support, which arrived intentionally not attached iin a separate envelope.
here's the unboxing process:
10714385_869150406449083_1789751514274884500_o.jpg10548198_869150413115749_8243013035886055467_o.jpg10604089_869150416449082_8918654743450993917_o.jpg10830723_869150419782415_2235311914999025299_o.jpg1780057_869150493115741_2280869909540132521_o.jpg10834940_869150409782416_7801536227188841926_o.jpg

I was worried from the bad reviews of course, but relieved from what Cousin Dave assured me being one of the best helmets around!
Only thing probably I'll make it a little more matte rather than pretty glossy as it is now. I know a lot about Car Tuning and of course in order to model the carbon cover around such a difficult surface You have to work it a lot, this is the reason why the carbon look appears a little weared. I think he made a really good job obtaining this nice finished look. I left some fingerprints hope You'll forgive having left them in the photos!
I like it a lot guys and the thickness, which was another issue, is pretty even and gives a sturdy feel to the helmet overall!:thumbsup

I'll add the inevitable selfie ASAP.:D

Regards,

Alberto
