Lule Bespin Boots - found a good base, what mods?

It looks like this boot might make a good base for a pair of Luke Bespin / dagobah boots. It only comes in black and brown. Question is, is there anything I can do to lighten the color? Anyone have any good pics from the film or good suggestions on how to mod them up? cheers
