That came out very nice!

The sequence of the pictures does not quite make sense to me for getting your resulting final piece. Can you provide some details? :)
 
Well after talking to Vash I decided to try a different approach to this. Instead of etching and then painting and peeling the masking off, I took masking off painted it all black and just etched everything but the letters. Now you get a nice raised letter look. There are some etch lines but I am going to shoot a few coats of future on it tomorrow and see if I can get it leveled out.

Ahhh. The first pictures make sense now. Thanks. Really like the raised letter look. Looks like it is ready to print a bunch of labels. :D

Here is another method to maybe try. Take black plastic and paint it white. Then etch the letters.
 
If I etch the letters then it wont be raised up as the Smith/Capaldi version should be

I gotta tell you Adafruit really makes adding lights and sounds to projects super freaking easy. Here is the dematerialization sound test for the Big Blue TARDIS kit
