Hey guys,

I just wanted to show you my first attempt of building an Iron Man Mark 6 costume out of foam (polyethylene).
I started this project almost a year ago. It took me so long because at the beginning I wasn't really motivated since I thought I could never finish that thing and besides that I had to spend one or two minutes studying for my A-levels :D
But now - finally - I finished it and I decided to share it with you guys.

Thats how I started. After cutting out all parts that were necessary (in this case the biceps, the back and the chest), I took some hot glue and started assembling. At the beginning I had some pretty ****ty results (like you will see -> first helmet) but after some time and practice I was astonished what I could reach with absolutely no clue (but all the more glue...sorry for that one :D ) about making a costume.

The first time seeing what i've created the last months. A little bit like parents who see their child on the ultrasound photo the first time. :lol

There is this little ******* - still with the ****ty helmet.
As you may have already seen, it has a skeleton made out of wood.

The next step was sealing the foam with PVA glue.

For that I bought a 5 liter bucket of glue (-> I still have 3 liters left :facepalm )

When this EXTRAORDINARY fun part was over, it was time to wear it!

Aaaaaand with the new helmet :love

For those who say now: "What a ******...those two helmets look exactly the same!" Trust me...they don't.

I think it was worth it. :darnkids

I finished the building process with some neat gloves for Monsieur Ironé Mané (<- I'm pretty sure that's french :D )

Now, coloring, bitch! (Well, thank you Jesse Pinkman for corrupting my english! ) :darnkids

At first I granted my buddy a few coats of Plasti Dip (<- don't really know if it was worth it...)

After that I sprayed like 2.000 000 spray cans on it to get the result I wanted.

Before I'm out I want to thank JFcustom who inspired me to start this project and of course I want to thank you for reading my little report, I hope you liked it! :) Feel free to leave a comment or ask questions if you have some!

Aaaaaand I'm out.

See you around guys.

Alex
