Hey folks. So I decided to embark on the adventure of building my own Deathstroke costume (I've always liked the character and his popularity seems to be shooting up because of Batman AO)
Usually I'm the kind of guy who loves buying costumes (Dredd *cough* *cough*)
But this time I decided that I want to take a swing at a long term project of my very own so I could take pride in saying that I basically made it all.
Note I have no real experience in making anything, so first time using craft foam, worbla, whatever.
First up is the helmet
I made a pepakura mask first (unfortunately it's the Injustice version because people are charging money for AO styled files)
Stage 1: Worbla rific! But it's quite a bit short on the side. Still you need to start somewhere.
Stage 2: A few days later I had to expand the eyes (matches picture better and I can't for the life of me see out of it before) I tried extending the sides and sanding it down for more detail. I'm using green stuff modelling putty to try and fill in gaps for a smoother look.
Stage 3: Done for the night but I basically tried to add more dimension to the eye portion.
If you look at the 3D model (yay powergaming) it's got a really strange bulge that sort of moves into the edge of his helmet. I can't really get it quite right so I'm just sort of winging it. :unsure
Well that's it so far. Next up is playing around with craft foam for those side jaw things and painting.
