need some help - armored gauntlet?

i am thinking of building an armored gauntlet for a display, and i am kind of stuck how exactly to get this worked out in real life.

obviously, the easiest way would be a big clay sculpture (like the 5th element hand made a few years back) but i would like this to be at least somewhat poseable.

does anyone have any blueprints or just any designs that i can use as a basic starting point? think hand and forearm, with the hand moving (fingers seperate and armored), and the forearm area being the big giant armored part with nothing moving at all.

any helps appreciated on it. im kinda stuck right now in the "doodling" stage.

that is.. sort of what im looking for, and it gives me a great basis to build up off of.

think the big giant gauntlets in the new iron man movie and you have a better idea of the scale i am going for.
