Space 1999 Ultraprobe or Predator ship photos??

Every few years I ask around for photos of The Space 1999 Ultraprobe or the Predator Ship form the first movie. There doesn't seem to be any good stuff. Everyone has the same few crappy shots. So anyone have any better references?

I have the basic shapes done for the Ultraprobe, but wanted to have detail shots. I am using a model eagle nose cone for the scale.

I did drawing of the Predator ship from the brief time the ship was onscreen, and I thought it looked like a whale, but the micro machine came out looking like a cockroach. So which is right?

There's great stuff of the Ultra Probe out there... and a lot in my files, I'd have to dig it up.

First there's the Space 1999 Catacombs

Here's a very good model by Jim Small

Here's a great gallery of pics of many models made by Martin Bower, including Ultra Probe

And also check the modeling sites, such as Culttvman

I've been building the larger Ultra Probe mother ship for some time. I took time off to work on other projects :) It's pretty near done. I just need to take some picts and post them.

All the frame work takes a bit of time and MANY expensive kits are on it. It's an EMA hound for all the end caps and and tubes. Not counting all the plastruct little snap T's and so on.

Thanks for the info. I had a lot of that, but missed that Sisson page. He has a great site.

The problem with replicas I found is that they don't have the right details. I might as well try to get it as correct as possible. Of course there were several scales made, and they don't match each other, so there is no 100% solution.

The only way to get either size model spot on is to see and photograph the originals extensively. Certainly there's no online source for such reference. The two and a half footer is the most original. The five foot version got repainted after the series, had bits added and had bits drop off and has currently undergone another recent restoration which has improved things greatly. As mentioned, both differ in proportions and detail so unless you want to spend a frustratingly long time on the project, I'd go with building a replica that meets your personal preferences.

I found my folder of printouts from a few years ago. I noticed the recent photos of the 5 footer don't match the details of the broadcast.
It seems the best images were from the Cybrary. It even had an article of a copy being made along the original 5 footer. Too bad the printouts aren't the greatest, and the cybray was shut down cold by the owner.

However the printouts had the web address at the top. I used the wayback search at http://www.archive.org/index.php, but the squatters who have the page now won't allow it to be pulled. Anyone know of another archiver that will alllow the search for the site?

The pictures you're refering to were of Chris Trice's replica he was building while having the original in his possesion. I have a set of his pictures he sold to me but I'm not allowed by the agreement with him to release them. I will be shooting some picts of my 5 footer as soon as I'm done with a few things.

I took a break from 1999 stuff a few years back to engage deeper in Galactica stuff. I will have some real neat replicas to show off soon :p

I have most of the detail on. I am using the details from the 6 foot version although my model is 3 foot, so everything has to be scratchbuilt. Some of it are details I have, but they are twice the size I need. In the photo are details that were; 3 cages from the V2, some Gemini spheres, Tank smoke canisters, and 2 truck chassis [from a scammell?]

Based on new photos I started to redo the spine. However nothing seemed to fit, until I realized it was way too short. I made the basic shape about 10 years ago, but how did I get it about 25% off?
So I bit the bullet and sliced and spliced and checked alignment, and it seems okay.

Any info on Predator ship photos?
