Hy everybody!
After a huge video project I did for the last couple of weeks I decided to spend a few days off from computer work doing something with my hands. I watched both Hellboy movies a few days ago and figured "Right hand of doom" should be an interesting thing to do, especially since I wanted to try the "primitive robotic hand" technique for some time now.
I started to shape it with cardboard. I find its a fast material to work with..
On the back of the fingers I put an elastic band, and on front I ran a string through the straws on each finger.
Next, I covered it with styrofoam
Here is a better angle to see the strings.
Then i shaped the fingers, connected the strings to an old glove hidden in the palm, and started puttying the hand.. Here are the comparison photos to show how it works
I couldn't resist to try and color at least one part of the hand today
That's about it for a two days work! I hope I'll make some progress in the next couple of days, and hope you like it!
See you soon!
