In a surprise move I didn't see coming, but definitely approve of, ECCC is introducing a new set of programming: Writer's Block!

Due to popular demand from fans, we're introducing the ECCC Writer's Block - bringing some fan-favorite authors out to Emerald City Comicon in 2014!

First up is Cornelia Funke (pronounced FOON-ka), a multiple award-winning German author of children's fiction. Funke is best known for her Inkheart trilogy, (Inkheart, Inkspell and Inkdeath), the first novel of which was made into a popular film starring Brendan Fraser.

She will be appearing all weekend!
