S.H.I.E.L.D. Cosplay Uniform and Vest

Hey guys and gals. I'm building a S.H.I.E.L.D. costume for DragonCon. One of the agents escorting Loki during Avengers and I need help. I need to know what kind of vest to use, as well as where I can get the S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform they wear. I already have the gun and helmet. Working on the rest, but I'm finding those two to be the hardest to find. Any help would be immensely appreciated.

It looks to be a tactical plate carrier, plus the thigh rigs, the suit is actually a tactical jump suit with custom add on's. The Zipper pockets on the upper arm/shoulder would be an issue.

Tru-Spec 24/7 Series Tactical Jumpsuit (Navy Blue) | Flying Tigers Surplus link for a base suit to be modded with zippers.

If you can pull a few more photos of the guards I can most likely ID all their kit. Just a heads up though 99% of that kit as cool as it is to look at is not something you want to wear all day.

Can't find a lot of good pics of the guards, but I'll try. I think the Mercs in SHIELD garb boarding the helicarrier have the same vests. Not sure though. Here's what I could find.

Not a lot to go off of, I hate that you never get a good look, without a gun or something else obstructing the view. As for the Zipper pockets I'm sure a good tailor could probably add them. (I hope)

I'm trying to get the costume as close to movie accurate, and still be comfortable.

As for the vest, I have yet to find one that has the same kind of shoulder straps and centered so I could have the SHIELD emblem put on it. And I've been to a lot of sites. Any recommendations would be awesome.

Hard to say what kind of vest they're wearing, as you've pointed out it's hard to make out with their weapons alway in the way. From what I can tell it's some form of MOLLE vest, so nothing with built in pouches, and there seems to be a loop on either shoulder which might be something of a tell. The nice thing about so much of the vest being obscured is that even though you can't make out enough to get a positive ID on the vests neither can anyone else.

Here's what I can determine going through IMFDB

Leg holsters are Safariland Drop legs. Non-quick detach.

There's a MOLLE hydration carrier on the back of (some) of the vests

Helmet is an OPS-Core with the rails. Not sure of what's mounted in the NVG mount, I thought it was a Princeton Tec light, but I don't think so anymore.

If you can direct me to a better image of them (my DVDs are still in transit and won't be here for a few weeks) I can ID some more.

Thanks. As for the vest, I have yet to find one with that same type of loop on the shoulder. I've been searching for better images online, but so far not much. May just have to use ctrl and scroll up on your mouse wheel to zoom in the webpage. I've had to do that a few times myself to more clearly see parts of the costume. I'll keep looking though.

Rams, I know this vest, I just haven't found it yet. the straps on the front are big indicators as not a lot of vests are configured that way. I'm sure I'll come across it. As for the shoulders, some companies sell additional shoulder pads for the top straps. that might be what is creating the loop. Also could be the black elastic keepers we used to have for our ALICE gear. I think I still have a pack somewhere, but it's probably in storage while I'm here.

Sorry to massively necropost.

As I am building the same uniform, I can tell you what they are wearing is almost nearly unobtanium as the original products, but you can get very close.

- Crye Precision LAC combat shirt (closest thing to it I could find online, unfortunately they must have gotten this as a special run from Crye Precision). Closest substitute I could find was the Under Armour Storm Tactical Combat Shirt. The navy blue colour was the difficult part to get closest to unfortunately and this may have to be faded and re-dyed in navy blue to match colours (keep in mind too they are filming under incredibly bright lights so that may affect the colour palette you see on screen versus what you would see IRL under normal lighting).

- S.O. Tech Callahan plate carrier system with S.O. Tech water bladder pouch on back. This plate carrier is absolutely Unobtanium unfortunately, doubly so in black, triple so in 2016 as the company retired the design probably back in 2010 and whatever you see on screen was through the prop house. You might have to substitute a black LBT 6094 plate carrier as it is the closest thing I could find to it but while it looks visually similar, keen eyes will pick out the differences.

- Crye Precision LAC combat pants with Crye combat uniform knee pads. Also unobtanium. From third hand sources I could find, supposedly Los Angeles PD had Crye do a run of these on special order as a test for a SWAT uniform and so the navy colour is unique, special, and impossible to find. I managed to get a hand on a set of Crye Field Pants in this colour from Ebay and I am working on having a tailor modify them to look like the LAC combat pants.

HTH.

It is most certainly a work in progress and a few things have changed (or will change). Crye Precision has finally released the LAC combat pants/shirt so that will make the pants screen accurate.

The airsoft pistol in the picture is inaccurate but the holster is correct, if on the wrong leg (Safariland Level III 6304). I couldn't quite tell but the tac teams were either using M&P pistols or Glocks in the movie.

The laser module in the photo is also inaccurate but it is what I had. The correct unit is a Steiner OTAL or OTAL-C (can't really tell since it's either a visible or IR laser, but the same housing).

The EOTech and FTS magnifier are screen accurate (XPS2 w/G33 magnifier).

Helmet is an Ops-Core FAST Bump helmet., light is a Princeton Tec Quad MPLS and the side one is a Princeton Tech Switch. Goggles are Oakley SI ballistic goggles.

Vest is also inaccurate but good freaking luck getting the screen correct version (S.O. Tech Callahan plate carrier system in black). I grabbed an el cheapo airsoft knockoff of the LBT 6094 and ran with it, but it irks me that it's not the right vest. The beacon worn is an Inova 24/7, I couldn't find one of those either being sold anymore, so I wound up grabbing a black Adventure Lights VIP strobe (not screen accurate but close).

The most expensive part of this, frankly, is the optics on the AR. I don't know of any airsoft clones of the magnifier or the holographic sight. The next most would be the Crye uniform pants/shirt, followed shortly thereafter by the Ops-Core helmet. All said and told, each of those guys, in just gear alone, is probably wearing about $2-3K worth of "cool guy" stuff, never mind the firearms.
