Tron Legacy LightCycle Baton

So, I'm thinking of abandoning the idea of the wand that opens, also because in the movie there's this thing, it is done only on the toy, in the meantime I'm progressing, albeit slowly, here new pictures.

Glad I found this thread. looking forward to seeing your progress. Making the "CLU baton case" is certainly on my list of props to make or at least own!

Your newest pics look sooo very good. Are you going to hollow out certain parts for lighting? What's your thoughts on a case for it?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the wand "opening", unless you are going to build it in such a way that it has the ability to transform into a Lightcycle prop. But that's much too long for me to wait for that to finish. I'll take the non-opening version first, and then just get the wand/open/lightcycle version later when it's finally finished... ;) ;) ;)

yes yes, the lighting will definitely, I'm realizing in 2 parts precisely in order to excavate the inside and put the LEDs.I'm thinking of making the case instead of the opening is perhaps more logical.

Sorry for the long period of sleep, I had a lot of work, now I have started to work on the BATON and within a few days I'll finish.
I had trouble with, let's call it "cap" because of its small size, making it difficult to work it.
The hard part is to tilt inwards to the edge.

Nice new set of pics, thank you very much.

What's the final finish going to be? Are you making a cast to pour colored molds and/or you making a run made out of wood? Spray paint or some other finish? It looks so good now, I'm just curious where it's going.

Again, thanks so much for the update!

I will make a rubber mold of each separate piece, so that it can then practice of the cutouts where housing the LEDs for the illuminzaione, and also to be able to sell the kit or the finished piece.

Do not take me for a madman, but I was not satisfied with the result, so I opted for a new system, the third.Laser engraving done on 'MDF, after giving the bottom and sanded, he had lost definition, so I started over, I laser-cut pieces of ABS 0.04 ", two pieces with the hole with a difference of 0.04 "overlap any so that the step is created exactly as the original piece, and the difference is seen and how. Then I heated the ABS with a heat gun and then off of putty, and here is the result.
