Part Time Props: Variable Threat Response Battle Suit

Hello to all future and current costume builders,

I have been wanting to create a custom War Machine costume. I have done a lot research and found many files that people have found or modified. I took these files and put them together in one zip folder so everything you need is in one location. This zip contains files from Stealth, Juice, Dubean, Bollomonkey, Zabana, Darkside501st, robo3687, and Sharkhead, So I am not taking credit for those files.

I did however create a ammo belt file for the Mini Gun. The Mini Gun file can be found at the link below. The ammo belt box was measured to use the open slot on the top right hand side of the mini gun. I wanted to create a ammo belt that was just like the one in the Iron Man II movie. there is a male and female end on the ammo box in the Pep file. This way you can use a dowel or bolts to create a natural pivot on each bot. the Pep file contains only one box, that way you can make as many of them as you need depending on your height to accommodate your suit.

The ammo belt box was created by me in 3ds max. so if anyone here needs some custom parts made and then put into a Pep file, let me know and i will do my best to meet you needs.

this is a build that i am working on. i will be updating and including pictures as i go.

the ammo box that i made to fit the mini gun that gimpee created is in the zip. it should be called Ammo Belt Block - ladman.

Very nice of you to put these all together for us. I know the Iron Man suit is being done to death around here, but I would love to make a War Machine suit myself one of these days.

Lol, i noticed that too. I will be making an Iron Man suit also when I'm done with the Warmachine build. I Make a thread that has all the files in one location just like this one for all Iron Man suits. I'm just waiting for the New Iron Man 3 movie to come out so that i can hopeful find some armor files for his new suit and Warmachine's as well.

I have finished my Iron Patriot build. It was a good practice build and i learned a lot from doing it. After seeing IM3 and the lackluster effort on the part of Iron Patriot, i have decided to do the Warmachine build again. I was looking around for some real good reference pictures and i stumbled accross some HD pep files that zabana was working on. I will be using there files and some others i have to build my suit. i have sent zabana a PM asking if he minds if i mod his files. i want to add in a operational Exwife and Missile pod in the shoulders. if the approval is a go, i will post the files here.

All right, i have gotten the go ahead from Zabana to modify the HD chest he has on his forum. I will be posting updates as i work on it. This is what i have so far. I have taken the tops of the shoulders off that contain the Exwife and what i have seen in all the Hot Toys, the missile pod. I have made the inner of the shoulders that hold those components. I just finished up the main part of the missile pod today. Now i have to make the mechanics for it to go up and down inside the shoulder. There will be a full electronic and mechanical package i will make for it and make available to everyone.

Just wanted to say first off thank you, you're amazing for posting all these files in one place. I've been working on a War Machine for a bit now and as I do I research further and further and expand my plans as I find new things (what started as a foam build has become a bondo and fiberglass build with animatronics-in progress that is). I was originally doing the mini gun and hands freehand as I couldn't find a template but thanks to you, I'll be saving time glancing back and forth at reference images.

I just had a few quick questions which honestly are a bit simple so bear with me. 1) Do I have to use cardstock for pepakura or is it just simpler because it holds up better when you're brushing resin on. I've printed templates out on just plain printer paper can I use that for the piece? 2) Can I use foam with these templates? My helmet came out wonky when I made it and people suggested that maybe I didn't use the proper thickness material which to be frank is something I never thought of being an issue to consider.

Finally more comment than question, in my research I've found all kinds of helpful things from average tutorials to how to's on making automated miniguns and mounting it to the suit. I also have amassed a decent set of reference images. Would you like to pool resources I can PM you links or whatever and you add them to this thread make it an ultimate War Machine 1 stop build shop?

I would love to make this a one stop shop for everything Warmachine!! feel free to post any links and things you might have. or you can just email them to me and i can upload them to 4 shared or something and post them. To answer your question, you can use printing paper but it is going to not stand up to the resin and when you are putting it on, it will most likely push into your pep model making dents and unwanted folds.
