My Dredd 2012 WIP (new pics!!! 04/24/13)

Re: My Dredd 2012 WIP (vest and new helmet pics 2/20)

Great work. I haven't found the pics you are using for the screen used boots...only the Prop Store shots. Especially like the heel shot. I'm currently working on my boots. Do you have any shots of the shin guards. Some pics show them as metallic (Prop Store) screen shots look black. I've painted mine black with worn spots of bare steel showing. Any info you have would help. I'm not ridiculous about sa accuracy either just want it close enough.

Re: My Dredd 2012 WIP (vest and new helmet pics 2/20)

I put some pics in Art's reference gallery, and alos you can see a good shot of the shins and toe pieces here: http://www.therpf.com/f71/original-dredd-3d-shins-toe-armor-176553/

I am using some Fox boots I got on the cheap right now, and made my own toe and heel pieces, I am making the shin part for now as well, but on FB there is a group looking into actual repro boots and I am getting those and Art's parts when that goes down.

Hope this helps.

It's coming together great mate. Any pics of the "New" helmet on? I've got an original and I feel it maybe a tad big for me...

Cheers

Re: My Dredd 2012 WIP (vest and new helmet pics 2/20)

So got the collar done, made it wih a sixsixtysix motocross neck guard, it aint 100% but I got the vented on top and square look so I am happy.

took forever to get together, not for the sewing new folks to attempt right away unless you are ok with ripping seams a lot.

Here's some trial pics as I get the strapping right. and Skeeg a couple helmet pics for you, the pinkski v 2.0 is about 1 inch shorter and perfect for us no necks! :)

Screwed up with the zipper and have to rip the right side and resew, got it off about a quarter inch and so the plates look high on that side, but that is an easy fix.

More test fitting, starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.....man this build aint for the timid, a bit more complex getting fits right than I thought it would be. Plenty of mistakes were made, but once I weather this up, I think the finished product will be awesome.

Holster, helmet, elbow and knee pads, and boots to finish. Sorry for weird pictures, but new Photobucket editor SUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKSKSSSS.

Thanks all!

I think I may rework my collar cover pending what Pinksi learns.

Re: My Dredd 2012 WIP (new pics!!! 03/15/13)

Great Build! A quick tip , for 'weathering the whole costume , put it in a plastic bag , and then empty the hoover dust bag in there - give it a good shake , remove and brush off excess , instant dust and dirty weathering !!
