Last Saturday, I invited my entire family to accompany me on a 10-hour round trip drive to Jackson MS to spend five minutes meeting Dan Aykroyd.

My eldest decided to attend my mother's birthday party instead.

You can see where my youngest's priorities lie.

We were told there would be no posing with Dan for photos, but he addressed my son as "Cadet" and invited him behind the table. Then he told me to hand my camera off to someone else and come back there myself.

The photo even got a Like from the voice of Egon on the Real Ghostbusters, Maurice LaMarche.

But, I know what you're thinking... what does that have to do with a thread entitled "my Ghostbusters props"?

Fair enough.

Here's my latest...

Just got back from having these printed. Not bad for a $5 total at Office Depot.

Also note my second, and much improved, Janine phone. This time in ivory.

Reference pics of the photos on Venkman's office wall:

A friend in France has the correct Philco radio on Venkman's shelf, and I asked him for the dimensions. From those I was able to approximate the width and height of the LA23 Firehouse prints by Durston.

Source images can be found here: Engine Company No. 23 and Truck Company No. 5

The calculator was tentatively ID'ed on the GBFans forums by someone called gboy6 back in January 2013, in a thread simply titled "Small calculator".

I put the make into my Followed Searches on eBay and never got any hits. Then one day, I got three. One was a Buy It Now for $50, one was a BIN for just over $30, and one was an auction that someone had already bid up higher than $50. I never understand why people do that. If there's another, seemingly identical one, that you could BUY for $50, why drive your price up?

I did the BIN and got the cheapest one, since I wasn't 100% convinced it was the correct model. But after holding it in my hand and re-watching the Blu-Ray of the movie instead of looking at still frame reference pics, I'm very pleased with it. It really looks correct.

I think the $50 one is still on eBay right now.

The photo with the horses was ID'ed by someone else on the GBFans forums named RedDeath, back in August of 2010. I myself didn't uncover that little tidbit until Christmas Day of 2012. I did a reverse image search and came across the BIG version at the Firehouse 23 site, and then noticed that the two smaller pics in an early scene were also on that site. Engine Company No. 23 and Truck Company No. 5

As for the frames, I am not sure what they used. They look very simple. I need to have some other stuff framed anyway. My GB1 one-sheet poster, now signed by Aykroyd, is just slightly larger than the biggest poster frame Wal-Mart had. The poster is 27-1/4" wide and 41" tall. The frame was 27x40.

So I'll probably get them all custom-done.

Alex-- I use hollywoodposterframes.com. Awesome quality and much cheaper than custom. I have my original 27x41 GB1 teaser and theatrical posters in their frames and couldn't be happier.

Cool, thanks! I just sent them an email asking if they can go 27-1/4" in width.

Didn't see any prices listed, though.

This is what life is like for my kids on a (rare for us) snow day, having a father who works nights.

Admit it, you're jealous.

The pics were each taken separately with the camera on a tripod. I used the timer for the pics of myself in GB uniform and as the Ghost.

So, I had a weird moment of seeing how this looked to a passerby as I took the final component of the photo.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying it.

Yes, my oldest son was a little slower to show interest than my youngest, but he's enjoying it now.

Yesterday at lunch, two teen girls at the next table said hi to him, called him by name.

I later overheard one of them tell the other, about my son, with a tone of awe rather than derision: "He's a Ghostbuster. He dresses as a Ghostbuster."

As we left they said a very flirty 'Byyyyyyye'.

I asked him who those girls were, how they knew he was a Ghostbuster.

He gave me this very self-satisfied grin and replied to both questions: "I have no idea!"

New question...

Can anyone give me some model info on this Seiko travel clock?

It's a 1938 Philco radio. Big thanks to kaison at GBFans for identifying the year and manufacturer, which aided my search greatly.

Best of all, it actually works.

I did look for th seiko. The only reference pictures I found were on Google images. And it was pictures of the clock and references to the honeymooners scene of Ghostbusters. None of the links seemed to have any info, just the picture.
