Ezio Brotherhood Robes

Re: Ezio: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Leather Robes

I've been working on some upgrades to the costume. I wasn't happy with the leg flaps so I redid them by gluing the trimming on instead of using piping. That way it'd have it's intended shape.

I also added a brown center flap to the front and back. The center flap is on all the artwork and figures, but is missing from the game model and every game Ezio's outfit appears in.

I added velcro behind the belt straps since the buckles go on reversed (weird, but that's how they did it).

Got pics at a Photoshoot at Dragon Con 2015. We had a surprise appearance from Jesse Rath, who played Ezio's elder brother Frederico Auditore in AC2 and Brotherhood. It was surreal meeting Ezio's brother out of nowhere...while dressed as Ezio!

Re: Ezio Brotherhood Cosplay - Going for 100% Accuracy W.I.P.

Sorry, for the long wait.

I still need to do some additions to the hood, but I'm really excited how it's turning out.
I am pleased that you have made a completed Ezio suite: roman edition and it looks fantastic, if you like, I would like to ask a question: I've been trying to find a way to make a hood exactly like that, to what process was this achieved? I don't know if the answer lies further down the thread or if it was deleted, whatever the case, I am very interested in this type of process.

I'm still not happy with the hood, but basically you need to use the texture file from the game. Attention to detail is key.

I'm still not done with the costume either. I still need to do the gauntlets, fix the hood, and do the flower patterns. It's close though!

Here are more pictures. :)

Hi.

Can I ask you, where you have bought your leather?
I am going to make an Ezio costume as well and think that all the white he is wearing looks a lot like leather both in the concept art and in game.

And how did you make the sash? Did you use any kind of pattern for it?
It looks really great and I have been looking for making something very similar to some of my other cosplays from Assassin's Creed.

Best regards!

It is leather. I got it on Ebay from a guy who has since stopped selling it in the grain I bought it in. (It's a rougher grain like Ezio wears). They still have white leather on Ebay, but it's all very smooth. I don't remember the exact name and it's been so long that it doesn't show up on my history list anymore. :/

If you can find some snow/pure white sheepskin in the rougher grain I'm using, please let me know! :)

The sash is red suede deerskin. I didn't use a pattern for it. I just used some sturdy furniture type pleather as a base and sewed glued the deerskin over it. I made sure to sew lines very unevenly to create the many folds in it.

By the way for the leather strips - use loctite fabric/leather glue. It's flexible. I've tested super glue and rubber cement and those both wear off after just one session of walking around. I haven't tested the loctite yet but have some strips glued down earlier today. So far the bond seems very strong.

Your Ezio looks amazing! I am so, so impressed. Very spot on and accurate.

If you are interested in white lambskin I would suggest MacPhersons Leather company. I go it it locally but they have a website .
You did a good job sewing leather. Not every machine can handle leather very well. Did you use any type of special leather sewing machine or industrial machine?

I was looking at your 3D images you posted, of Ezio's hood close up, then thinking about your hood and what you said about your hood.... How come you cut strips out of your leather and the like and glued them on on top, instead of doing all of it in panels and sewing them each together? I saw you did that for some of the hood, sewing pieces together for the hood, like the one from the front tip that goes to the lower back. I thought I saw that in the 3D model image you posted, that the whole hood is panels sewn together rather than leather strips, or that they could have done various pin tucks or darts in the hood. hmmm.... You could also do leather piping between the panels you'd sew together, if you do that, and if you want that trim effect still instead of just sewing panels together.
Like the white here:

or use some really thin string and your lampskin to make your own leather piping.
Not saying you have to do any of that mind you! I like it already, it has really has a great fit and looks a lot like it Ezios.
I mainly say this because I noticed in one of your previous posted you said "I'm still not happy with the hood". You did such a great job on this, I wanted to offer some ideas and maybe some solutions to help.

Also, few more questions for you, How did you make the shoulder armor and belt buckle? Is that a 3D printed piece or a resin casting you made? I personally am looking at maybe getting a 3D print of the belt buckle, I found a 3D file of it online. Not sure what filament to use and what infill setting... I don't have my own 3D printer so I have to use the 3Dhubs website.
Lastly, I have been looking at hidden blades, any suggestions on where to pick some up at? Perhaps you have a store name from where you got yours at or any other place suggestions? I almost got one of the one at the Ubisoft booth at PAX but I wasn't a fan of the hard fake leather plastic and wasn't sure how long the mechanics in it may last.
I ask you all this stuff but I am not making a Ezio outfit, although I kind of wish I was, instead I am trying to make a really nice original assassin creed character outfit. I have a bunch of leather I used on mine as well, but it's already put together garb from Ravenswood leather and this crimson leather store where I got my shoulder piece.

Thank you very much for the help and great job on your costume.

Thank you very much for the help and great job on your costume.

First of all, thanks! The reason I glued strips where I did was because it appeared to be strips to me. Especially in the high resolution 3d models used in the advertisements and artwork. I'm thankful for that because doing a lot of panels would have been exceedingly difficult.

I did use piping where appropriate - the shoulders and across the chest.

I'm not happy with the hood yet because I haven't gotten it to look right at the back. It may be a sizing issue, or just the way I sewed it in the back. Also, I haven't been able to get the inner red leather to bond with the outer white leather. I'm planning to have a professional take a jab at the hood along with the rest of the upper half of the costume to hopefully perfect it.

The shoulder armor and belt buckle were from a very talented friend who's since retired from that line of work.

The hidden blade was custom made by ammnra. I'm not so sure you can still get those online though.

Best of luck to you on your original assassin. I hope you post pics! The shoulder pads look phenomenal!

Slowly been working on the leather parts of the gauntlets.

Gauntlets are done. Once I get the screw posts in the mail, the sword frog will be done as well.

HE LIVES!!! So that's what you've been working on this past year. Those gauntlets are looking good!
Thanks. I finally got the motivation to get back to it little by little this year. The sword frog parts are all made as well. All I need are the screw posts to assemble and I'll post that.

Got around to taking pictures of the sword frog with the belt assembly.
