New hero Iron man prop from Iron man 2

I agree about several of the posts on here about the definition of hero prop, except that a principle actor can handle any prop and it could be considered a hero prop if it is seen on screen in said actors hand in a prominent shot or scene-not necessarily in CU. Hero prop is most often used to describe the beauty version of the prop with the most detail, usually for close-ups...but it can be a rubber or background prop that turns out to be a "hero" prop in the end product as well.

Hero versions are always the ones used on screen 100%, theres no backups or replicas that will replace the originals. They are always used in closeup shots, for example a hero sword might be made of actual metal but the normally used sword will be made of rubber so no actors / actress's were hurt on set. Its always to give the film that more 'realistic' feel and the items as a result show quality of this and screen useage and time on screen is also taken into account
