Justice League

Not to mention that Affleck’s batman would wreck Bale’s. I loved him as well, but he’s no match. Hell, Affleck could beat Nolan’s Bane probably, without a sweat.

Worst thing Nolan's Batman did was distroy one building because he couldn't climb up high enough while hoisting the nuclear bomb. Bale would not shoot the cab of the truck carrying the bomb or the escorting Tumblers.
Affleck would completely waste Nolan's Bane, his Batman no longer has any reservation in killling at least as we saw in DOJ. He may stop killing in JL but the new Batman is far removed from the Eisenhower era version of Batman. Even Keaton's Batman killed the Joker and Nolan wouldn't do that.

Btw - I'm not arguing for or against here. I love the Dark Knight series, absolutely phenomenal Batman stories, all of them. And not everything in that video is perfect either - but you really can't ascribe that perfect status to Bale Batman just because he says on screen that he doesn't kill etc.

:thumbsup

Also - DCEU Bats has gone the other way now. We were introduced to him at his darkest and most lost point in his career. He has hope now.

This is... still not looking good, sorry to say. From the crappy cover of Heroes (seriously, I didn't even recognize it until the very end of the trailer) to the Whedon-isms coming out of Batman's mouth, this just looks like crap thus far.

The only point where I cracked a smile at all was this image:

And, even so, it's a little 'on the nose'/heavy-handed.

It cracks me up that every criticism of the DC movies can be equally applied to the Marvel movies. Fun movies yes, but filled with incredibly stupid moments, characters who were all born with the same sense of humor, and so much bad CGI they mostly look like cartoons. Why those pieces of fluff get a pass is beyond me...

I would argue against a lot of those points, but here's a major difference: The MCU doesn't attempt to be dark and serious as the main theme of every movie, while hamfistedly shoving in "humor" and drama. DC tries to cover pretty much all genres in a single movie.

This looks like crap.

Because they are, unlike the DC drek, fun movies. It is an enjoyable experience to sit through. DC is complete garbage end to end.

It’s very simple. You don’t like what you see? DONT GO !!

Spittin' truth. It'd also be sublime to come and chat with people who find joy in this - but nah, apparently people enjoy themselves far more when given the opportunity to denigrate, rather than celebrate. There's no middle ground anymore. Binary thinking is ****ing exhausting.

We've just witnessed Wonder Woman save Batman from Parademons on the Batmobile, as the Flash races past so fast we only see lightning, followed by Cyborg in flight mode, catching, helping and then launching, like a ******* spear, Aquaman across hellish, Apokolyptic skies where he then throws his trident into another Parademon. IN. LIVE. *******. ACTION.

People don't have to like this stuff, of course, but I feel sorry for those of you that won't get to enjoy this in November. I'm hoping it's a phenomenal film outright, but the grandeur and scale of having the Justice League on the silver screen at last will be satisfying in its own way, at the very least.

This exists, FFS.

Reminder: You are in control of how you view, process and enjoy things. The onus is not always on the art to do something to you.

Second Reminder: It's quite alright to enjoy multiple film types/tones/genres/styles. Insane, I know. I'll see both Thor and Justice League - :popcorn mental!

Let me be absolutely clear here. I WANT to like this movie.

I enjoyed Man of Steel. Despite it's generally gloomy take on Superman, I think Henry Cavill has potential to be a phenomenal Superman, if they finally get over this "everything must be grim and dark" streak. It gave us a Lois who is actually SMART and investigates (a truly shocking thing in an investigation reporter, I know). I also didn't mind the ending. There was no way in hell Zod was going to do anything but head back to the city to cause as much collateral damage as possible, even if Superman forced him out of it somehow.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVED Wonder Woman. It is one of my top favorite comic book movies. Period.

I WANT DC to do well. However, it's like they get a kernel of something right and they don't know WHY it was right, and then they try to replicate it and it doesn't seem to go well. This movie does not look like the needed course correction they needed. IMO, bringing Whedon in was a mark against it rather than in its favor because as time has gone on, his contributions to the MCU have been... problematic. Not to mention, he's far too in love with his "clever" dialogue which has lost its charm for me a long time ago.

I want MORE DC movies, not less. I want that Nightwing movie they've been kicking around. I want Batgirl. Hell, I want the HAWKS to have a movie.

BUT... they have to be good! These characters deserve more than a slap-dash crap-tastic looking movie.

Why the hell is Flash wearing janky-ass armor that looks like it's being held together by bailing wire? Also, why is it that pretty much any time he opens his mouth, he sounds like some sort of stoner burnout?

Cyborg just looks horrible and I have a feeling there's a damned good reason they aren't showing much of him in these trailers.

Again, Whedonisms coming out of Batman's mouth? No. Just no.

So, the TLDR of all this? I want DC movies, but I want them to be movies that are worthy of the characters.

I appreciate your opinions. I'm not into a whole thing, so I'll just respond to a few bits.

I wasn't aware that we have transcripts of the script? So how do you know what is Whedon and what is Terrio? I don't really care that we can "just tell" - it isn't confirmed. And in that trailer, there was literally one line that I can imagine you're on about. "That's not the saying. That's the opposite of what the saying is." I'll concede it sounds a little light hearted. Oh wait...that's the tone we were headed towards anyway. etc.

If you're talking about Cyborgs design? Fair play, your opinion. I personally like the alien metal/angular design. The CGI looks absolutely fine. I won't claim it's utterly outstanding, but it looks damn good for what they are pulling off. The CGI overall in this film looks phenomenal - if you understand just how much CGI is in these big blockbuster films, I don't think it's a valid complaint. And if you also think Thor, Infinity War, X-Men, Kingsman etc are all fine but this specific film isn't? (Not saying you do, merely an example at large) then I have nothing to say to that, because none of these films have perfect CGI. Not even close.

Again, Flash is a young version of BA. We only get one film Flash, so they've incorporated bits of Wally too. You're reacting to the actor's natural delivery it seems?- personal preference. The design of the Flash suit is functional - the wires are there to ground the energy he creates. He builds the suit himself. It all ties into the character - smart, self driven, but young, and impressionable. Honestly can't see whats wrong with that.

Won't go into "gloomy" Superman. You've demonstrated solid understanding of the story, so if that's how you interpret a guy who is trying to do the right thing as he faces some difficulties, then fair enough. IMO - he's one of the most genuine, deep feeling, introverted but honourable Supermen we've ever had.

Slap dash crap-tastic? Yeah - pretty certain the hundreds of people working on this film just thought "you know what...I'll just phone it in". Well thought out criticism with validity is fine of course, I'd never argue against hearing that, but I think that's just a bit ****ty to say about hundreds of people's collaborative efforts to create something together, while we sit on message boards tearing it down with our "superior" knowledge and understanding. Again - not really a dig at you specifically, but it irks me.
