The Definitive Hawkeye SHIELD Uniform/Costume Thread

Here's mine and my wifes version one Hawkeye and Black Widow costumes that we put together in two weeks time for a Halloween bash. We're looking to upgrade to movie accurate by the time our next local ComicCon in May.

First upgrade on my agenda is a new holster rig for my wifes Black Widow.

Hi guys. I finished my Hawkeye and debuted him at MCM EXPO London. I was actually approached by a lookalike agency while relaxing between shots :lol

Due to con saftey I wasn't allowed to bring my real limbs so constructed some out of an old limb by splitting it in half down it's length. This actually worked well as the elastic was just strong enough to create the illusion of a draw on the bow. My arrows and quiver were made using the masking tape fletching technique and were finished off with suckers. I also went for the right handed option as I could hardly hold anything with my left :wacko

Here are some pics

This has definitely become part of my costume collection and I will be wearing it again soon.

Thanks for looking :cool

So, after having set this thread up forever ago, I finally have some pics of my own to post. I went with my own take on the SHIELD look, not quite striving for 100% screen accuracy. The following pics are from several different events the past few months. The ones latest ones are from a private function for Stan Lee where we did a whole stunt/fight skit.

I have found some pics of mine as well. Not meaning to hijack. Just wanted to post some pics. I have more. I am trying to finalize my final battle suit. almost done. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Since most of the items are pretty much off the shelf items I wanted to share what I did about the glove. I picked up a damascus 3 finger archery glove online and midnight black leather stain, elastic straps, black leather, velcro and double sided fabric tape (all from hobby lobby). It's not exactly screen accurate but here's the final result.

Hope this helps anyone looking to replicate it.

Thanks for the resource. I recently pulled the trigger and moved forward on this costume myself. I started a week or so before an event so I don't have everything quite as nice as everyone else here, but the crowd reaction was still very favorable. I look forward to updating it down the line.

I plan on using this in more detail for Megacon 2014 in Orlando but this thread has been a great resource. I'll try to post some better quality pictures later but here are some crappy camera phone Halloween pics.

What are people using for the quiver? I have looked just about everywhere and can't find a thing.

I just 'pulled the trigger' (as another member here put it - on my own purchase of this creation)

Spent the day unstiching the velcro from the Blackhawk Vest and sanding down my bow (Im using a Samick SHT which became the prop used by 'another' bow user)

Quiver wise all I've found is this:

Black Cordura, obviously the picture doesn't do it justice... not purchased my own yet though as Im looking for one with two backstraps

What are people using for the quiver? I have looked just about everywhere and can't find a thing.

I teamed up with a friend of mine who has a sewing machine that can sew through leather and put it together ourselves. I bought some black leather and black canvas from Michaels. I also used some of the same leather to adapt a three finger shooting glove to a more movie accurate look.

What are people using for the quiver? I have looked just about everywhere and can't find a thing.

I made my own quiver. I used three sheets of plastic needlepoint canvas (one cut in an oval for the base, the other two stitched together to make a giant rectangle for the upper) and covered them in black fabric. I used nylon strapping and plastic clips and adjustment sliders (scavenged from a thrift store briefcase) for the straps. I modified the design slightly so I have quick release from both top and side, which reduces the need to swing it over my head (not that I'm likely to dislodge that wig, but...). It's also really convenient for getting into the quiver to grab stuff -- when I'm at conventions, the quiver is where I carry things like my phone, wallet, bottled drinks, program guide, etc. ^_^

I don't have a very clear picture of the quiver, but you can see bits of it in these shots:

Gloves used in the first scenes of the movie are Hatch fingerless rappelling gloves or a knock-off. The padded sections on the back of the hand give them away.

Has anyone been able to ID the leather jacket he uses at the end of the movie when they are all in central park? I have been looking forever with no luck. I figured if anyone would know, it would be my friends at the RPF.8265319614_146986b400_o.jpg

Does anyone know which layer of the Blackhawk Warrior Ops jacket they used for the film? The jacket consists of 3 different layers.

Its a little complicated; I'm led to believe you cant buy all three layers together as one jacket - they dont zip into one another as a lining, they're specifically thin to layer ontop of one another.

Layer 1 - Ops Jacket
Layer 2 - Light Waterproof Layer
Layer 3 - Sever Cold/Storm Layer/Parka

Im wearing mine now ontop of the Blackhawk vest as EDC wear; in my size it took a long time to find the Ops Jacket (rather then the Grid Fleece or 3/4 training jacket) so I simply snapped one up when I found one as I spent months only able to find XL with UK shipping

a few photos of me in SHIELD Hawkeye from various conventions in the UK--

also for those interested there is a useful group on facebook called "EVOLUTION OF HAWKEYE" too covering all things hawkeye and costuming too :)

I wore some craghopper pants in the photo's since each convention I was Hawkeye for a few hours then Resident Evil Merc, and then Civil War Crossbones so I needed some pants which would be able to be used on 3 different outfits. I can't be doing too bad since I was a invited GUEST last year at the 2016 (UK) Sheffield Film Comic Con run by showmasters!

I will probably update the pants to the emerson ones. I also chose to use the quiver from another Avengers movie ;)

I also give away my glasses and Hawkeye SHIELD ID Cards to fans who are keen on Hawkeye, or who may follow me at local conventions.
