It could also simply be an error. I've come across spec sheets before with incorrect dimensions and inaccurately drawn diagrams (even CAD-drawn parts) that I knew were wrong. It happens.

My wife came home with leftovers in this take out box with this lid. Made me think if the Millennium Falcon Cockpit panels.

My apologies for the sudden silence! Without getting into too much gory detail... I've been dealing with two VERY toxic "social" situations these past few weeks and one of them went nuclear on us. A lot of people were affected and upset. All is well now and the waters have calmed. Let's get back to work!
I finally got back to work on the nav chair buckles and Coughtrie Lamp Base

Added some "Mr Putty" for the hard to reach areas
And more bondo
After looking at a few new images that dropped, I got to work and redesigned the more screen accurate greeblie that mounts to one of the extension panel lids
Slowly putting it all together

The original greeblies were attached to the lid using pop rivets. I didn't want to take that route so I designed a more sturdy base

This piece broke on me 3 times so I created a solid base

Laser cut this interesting piece

I love all the little primer screw ups. Looks like divots in the metal paint
Close to finished!
Mounted - still need to add the side screen and add some weathering
And finally... Jake stopped in and has been wiring up different elements of the cockpit entrance!
SO COOL!
We tested a LED strip
They will light these red acrylic highlights! LOVE IT!
Adds so much life to the droid sockets!
And that's where we are! Lots more to follow. I DEF need to play catch up!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Things got toxic there for a while but the group banded together and worked through it. Life likes to throw you curve balls from time to time. Life is not all sunshine and rainbows... You got to take the punches and keep moving forward.

Time for that "End of the Weekend Update"! Being Easter weekend, I took some time for me. Enjoy!
I bounced around a LOT trying to get to all of the "this and that" finished up. Getting this area prepped for LEDs
The LEDs will simply be adhered in place
More work on the Maint Console - I added the circular greeblie
Cut a hole for wiring
Jake is continuing his work on the wiring! COOL!
We're going to add a dimmer
Love the white bleed from the sockets
Note the light coming from the backside - I need to design a cover plate for the back
The new Extension Panel greeblie screen had to be resized
YUCK
I designed, laser cut and fabricated these new Extension Panel Lid corner greeblies

I went back and designed a new screen

Work continues on the belt buckles
Finally... I worked on the door frame and managed to have a UGH moment
One side of the frame has to be reduced to allow for the Door Pads to wrap over top of the frame - I measured
Set up the guide
And cut
Time for the UGH moment... I got a call and became distracted. When I went back to the door frame I managed to cut the WRONG side! Naturally, I had to fix...:facepalm Added MDF filler strips
I then added the strip that I had JUST removed back in place. All better!
I did in fact get the correct side finished up
With the door frame now in place there was HUGE gap!
I designed and laser cut 1 of 2 cover panels - note the small access holes
1 1/4" piece of MDF and 1/8" piece of MDF
These two are adhered together
Counter sunk screws hold the MDF pieces in place
From the back
Counter sunk lid in place - in the event of a wiring issue we have small access panels to the interior areas of the cockpit entrance housing
Painted
Paint was still wet so I couldn't adhere in place
And this...
Is where we are!

Somehow I missed posting these images...
I laser cut the Coughtrie Lamp Base plate
OK... that's not going to work. I then remembered I had altered the interior to fit the larger lamp base I found online
