1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Hi Gang,

It Monday Morning! :)

The .25" plastic half round I ordered for the nav chairs arrived!

IMG_20180624_142903_zps3tacgljx.jpg

IMG_20180624_142913_zpsfrthnkjo.jpg

The idea is to slide LED strips into the tubes and this should then, when LEDs are illuminated, back light the panels

I HOPE

I cannot begin to say how thankful I am to P Wise! THANK YOU, P! This was beyond generous! You'll always have a seat in the cockpit!

You guys/gals know what this means? I have to build the couch... then the nav computer... then the hull... then the... ;)

More to Follow!

Chess table!?! For shame SK. You know that's a Dejerak table. Tsk tsk. LOL!

I was thinking, if you could get a Good Housekeeping seal of approval, those 1/4 scale Nav Chairs would make awesome highchairs for babies. With proper guard rails of course.

I bet Imagineering is going to snap you up pretty soon. As usual, mind blowing work.

Hey R,

DANG! That's cool! Hope you put your name on it so you can take it home?! ;)

You're nuts SK!!! In a great way! So when is the cockpit going to be mated to the FULL hull????

Hey D,

Thanks! I think you're right... I must be nuts! Are you asking when the 1:1 scale or 1:4 scale cockpit will be mated to the hull?

- - - Updated - - -

You Sir are INSANE . . . . I love it!!!!!

I will take that as the ultimate compliment! :)

That’s looking really good. Loving the chairs. Can’t wait to see the tiny TRM and the Tupperware plate added

Thank you, my friend! I'm really excited to see the nav chair parts as well! I guess I can start working the center console next?

I know I know... shame on me! It's a the Dejarik table. I was trying to keep things simple. I have no excuse! ;)

LOL! I'm not sure how the GH Seal would work but how cool would it be to feed the kiddos in a 1/2 or 1/3 scale Nav Chair?

Thanks for the compliment. It would DEF be cool to get that call!

Nice! Where'd you get the "nightlight' from?

Hi M,

Philip Wise, from the Force.net and Blue Realm Studios, was kind/generous enough to donate the table to the project! I was totally stunned and more than appreciative of his generosity. I should honor that generosity by marrying the table with a new couch! :)

Fantastic work...as always Sofa, as always:thumbsup

Thanks, J! There is so much design work and little "re-do's" going on behind the scenes. I'll get there!

Hi Gang,

Chatted with the guys out in TX and they are getting themselves ready to begin work on the cockpit! They have been doing several walk arounds, strategizing, etc and planning out exactly how and where to start work. I'm really looking forward to the first set of images to arrive... I have to admit I do miss the ol girl!

I know the 1/4 scale is somewhat boring and not much to look at but it has been VERY therapeutic. As much as I miss the full scale cockpit, the smaller build has been a nice change of pace. Also, I'm waiting for the local Fabrication Lab to get their CNC up and running. Once done I will be able to start a new 1:1 scale MF related project.

Stay Tuned! Always lots more to come and never a dull moment! ;)

When I see your updates I giggle like a little excited girl, THIS is the best build ever ( apart from my own of course ) :lol

You should make up some Ikea type instructions for assembly!

What are you talking about? That 1/4 scale build is too cool. Keep it coming! We need a 1/4 scale Falcon. Hell, everyone needs a 1/4 scale Falcon in their living room.

Hi K,

I hope people are enjoying it. Again, i know it's not the full scale build. But you're right... everybody needs a 1/4 scale Falcon in the living room! Well said, my friend! ;)

Hey H,

Well... Depending on interest, I am considering a kit. :)

You mean like this? What's Swedish for Hydrospanner?

Vattenspanner? Maybe? ;)

You know, there actually would be a relatively lucrative market for a 1/4 scale cockpit kit. Laser cut pieces, a bag full of resin greeblies and a lighting kit. Hmm, something to ponder...

Hi Gang,

Time for the End of the Weekend Update!

Saturday was spent in front of the computer trying to figure out the 1/4 scale door frame and going through revision after revision after revision. It was VERY frustrating. But Sunday came and I finally got my head around all the different tabs and alignment issues and rolled through the door frame!

First, I continued work on the 1/4 scale headpiece
IMG_20180630_102114_zpsolgb8ui0.jpg

Need to clean up some serious issues but it's looking ok so far
IMG_20180630_102120_zpsinpukndv.jpg

For fun I painted the edges

I then moved onto the rest of the 1/4 scale... Display stand
IMG_20180630_101735_zps4zplulct.jpg

This was all I was able to knock out on Saturday. This is the floor frame of the door frame / transition panel

Tight space!
IMG_20180701_112251_zpsh7p7fmia.jpg

This is tough to see but I then designed and laser cut the new lower frame joists

Note all the acrylic tube holders, and spacing issues I had to deal with!
IMG_20180701_164432_zpsoydqzjcm.jpg

IF I were to add the angled corridor...
IMG_20180701_164502_zps7qze3jd3.jpg

It is tempting! ;)
IMG_20180701_164537_zpssb0ycd1i.jpg
