Hi Gang,

A Super Quick Morning Update!

I laser cut new "connectors" for the MK4 box

A new guide plate

The connectors will simply fit in place

Adding some color

Then Silver

So, remember that awesome greeblie I found? I was able to pick up a Rolls Royce Engine Flame Tube! Also known as Quad Laser Barrels, IG-88s Head, the Cantina Drink Dispenser, etc etc etc

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been working a few other projects but I'll get back to it tonight!

Hey Sofa,

No problems on lack of updates! Although we joke about it (and do genuinely look forward to our greeblies fix) we do realise you have a real life and other projects separate from the "pit". :thumbsup

Nice find on the Flame tube, a true Star Wars multi use Greeblie, LOL!!

It's crazy that it's already two years ago... was that still the original console?

What are you going to use the Rolls-Royce for? Part reference for the quad? Or is IG-88 getting added to the to-do list?

Hey Y,

Time certainly does fly! I can't believe it's been that long. Finding the Flame Tube, as I mentioned, was lucky and it made sense to get it than let it go to someone else. Since we're going for total screen accuracy, having one on hand will help us when we actually recreate the full scale on screen quad as opposed to my recreating a sort of hybrid. Sorry, no IG-88s in the near future.

Oh yeah. Seeing how this superb Falcon interior evolved over time is really great. Cannot wait to see it finished, this will be as cool as the screen used one, especially knowing your true dedication in making it :thumbsup

Hi Gang,

Early Morning Update!

Spent a lot of the weekend designing new back wall greeblies. I had to change the size of one main greeblie for travel and access panel purposes but it will still look the part! And as always... there was more spent at the laser cutter than the was with the actual build.

This is the new "scaled down" back wall greeblie

Lots of routing and filling to do!

Round center pieces being adhered together

Made a few modifications and was able to fit this board

The housing, from what I can tell, is painted silver and the board is painted black

A brand new greeblie! More on this guy later

Another new back wall greeblie. This will have 3 switches installed and painted the standard black

I would up having to recut the back plate - I forgot to remove the back for access (UGH)

Adhering the body together

Filler

Top plate minus switches

Designed a new housing

Along with a new side greeblie

And if you look closely there is a small thin trim piece along the top of the housing

I'm really hoping this guy turns out!

I then changed the simple round pattern of bolts to actual looking bolts

I'm hoping to have all these different edges from various greeblies sanded smooth so I can bring out the router!

I then took a DUSTY paint brush and added some simple weathering to many of the black greeblies

Note the dusty / worn looking edges

I finally added paint to these two greeblies

This guy will be painted silver

More to Follow! And eventually I'll mount all these things to the back wall panels!

...so long as the weight of all those greeblies don't make the cockpit tip over on it's back.

I hope I'm not a debbie downer, but the flame tube is not the exact one used for IG-88, cantina, etc. It's pretty darn close, but not exact. The multiple seams and holes at the bottom should only be one seam, with a larger hole beneath it.

Hi Gang,

Another early morning update!

Got this guy all finished up when after looking at a behind the scene image the housing IS in fact silver

Painted silver

All I need to do is mount the boards and then to the wall!

This guy is almost finished

The MK4 Panel is coming along

Have to add more filler to the little knob

Closer to being finished with this one

The housing gets a first coat of filler then sanding

Then primer

More filler

I'm really enjoying this new greeblie!

Other pieces getting filler

Painted this base silver

I dont really like how this guy turned out...

If all goes well, I'll break out the router this afternoon! Stay Tuned!
