1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

... it's an awesome project the builders should be immensely proud off and take pride in the amazing work they have accomplished...

Hi R,

Thanks so much! It was another really late night. These guys are amazing! We had a few minor setbacks and had to rewire a panel, hack up the instrument panel so the main red and white LED panel will fit (photos coming - woke up late) and a bunch of other little things here and there. Unfortunately, it rained so I wasn't able to get out and finish up the back walls.

But there's always more to follow! ;)

Hi S,

After the Premiere at the Space & Rocket Center I'm going to redesign the canister greeblie. There are a bunch of new photos of the cockpit emerging and I can already see the differences.

If there is a significant request for the canister I'll consider casting and making molds. :)

There is no considering... you've already decided and now are toying with our emotions like some puppet on a string! Dance pityful fans DANCE! You will make it... you will sell it and you will be happy to take our money you demon! :D

The RPF needs a "Builder of the Year" award . . . and you sir are the clear cut winner!!!! Good luck on this last push my friend.

WOW! Thanks, Fuzz! We have just a few more long nights ahead of us. We're hoping load in to the SRC will begin Sunday. Should be an interesting week :)

Speaking of week... 1 more week to go!

- - - Updated - - -

Yes indeed. He would get my vote as well.:D

Thank you, Sir! :)

Hi Gang,

Isn't it about time for an update? Everybody has been pulling together working late nights, early mornings and doing amazing things trying to finish what we can before the premiere of EP VII! Enjoy...

These dang rockers fought me every step pf the way! 3 days of primer, sanding, cracking, primer, sanding, cracking, etc etc etc

There aren't enough words to express how thankful I am for everybody who came out to help this weekend! Daniel, Jessie, Jake, CJ, Scott, Wayne, Barbara, John, Eric, Brittany, David... Thank you so much for all your hard work and continued support. :) If I missed a few people I do apologize. Bad me!

More good stuff on the way to include a new original greeblie!

Stay Tuned!

Man! What an update! Every time I see this cockpit I'm convinced that it will look just a bit better than the real one.

I feel your pain on the paint cracking sofa :( I find in these winter months everything comes to a halt paint related. My Vader mask almost cracked in half cause of this damn weather, luckily it got warm this weekend so no problems, but I feel you pain lol. Either way it is looking amazing!!! I cant wait to see more :D!

Said it before and I'll say it again as there is no other way. Simply stunning and beautiful attention to detail. She's a thing of beauty.

Great work all you guys and gals.

Greg... why oh why do you torture us so with the beauty of this cockpit? It looks amazing... but I got one question... the volvo panels... aren't those little instrument clusters suppose to be angled upward on the bottom? ;)

Sofa,

AMAZING!!! This is just a beautiful build. And I am with the other guys! 'BuilderS of the year award!' for this team of VERY talented folks. You make us all proud!

One Question:

The volvo panels look off when matched up to the front window?

Hi F,

Thank you! That is a VERY generous comment! :)

Looking great, but I'm most curious to see where that Fender Stratocaster greebly is going to go! :D

Hey B,

Thanks! The future location of the Strat is classified as of this writing. ;)

Hey MB,

It was brutal! It took me no less than 5 attempts for the primer to finally set. I dont know if it was the resin in the rockers or just the paint itself. But all is well and we're finally able to get them adhered to the new console.

Hey L,

You're right, I'm sorry. No more pictures. ;)

You are correct. I installed the Volvo panels upside down. :facepalm

These past few weeks have been brutal. I was lucky to even get them on the correct panel! I'll fix before the big reveal. :)

Hi S,

Thank you very much! I don't know if we deserve the build of the year. There are so many great builds on this forum that I draw my inspiration from. But we greatly appreciate the kind words. Thank you.

The Volvo panels have been a constant irritant ( I blame Jessie - ;) ) There are multiple errors that I really WANT to address before the premiere but we have so little time. However, what you're seeing is not an "error". The panels have not been bolted to the shelves yet so one of them is creeping toward the center more than the other. With that said, neither one of the panels should be seen through the window - one of the many errors. The laundry list of things to do that involve the Volvo panels is staggering!

Either way, the panels are going to be redone and it's on the top of the list. :)

Wow. Continuing to amaze! Nice work, y'all.

Now, seriously, how are you getting out of the garage? Are you going to have to disassemble it for transport, then reassemble it when you get where you're going?

Well see... what he's been keeping secret is the fact that this is actually a trasnformer. What's gonna happen is the Optimus Prime is going to come to the house when it's time for them to move it out and say "Autobots... ROLL OUT!" and it's going to transform into a Chevy S-10 and drive itself to the showing and then transform back when it gets there, but shhhhhhh... that's all hush hush! :)

Just when I thought it couldn't possibly get any more awesome...
