Hi Gang,
Isn't it about time for an update? Everybody has been pulling together working late nights, early mornings and doing amazing things trying to finish what we can before the premiere of EP VII! Enjoy...
These dang rockers fought me every step pf the way! 3 days of primer, sanding, cracking, primer, sanding, cracking, etc etc etc
Almost everything I painted... cracked
But in the end... they finally turned out!
Wiring Wiring Wiring! We removed all the white LEDs that had the Fresnal Lens and replaced with the correct yellow LED
Scott wiring up some LEDs
Button panel getting a final look over. Go Jake go!
We had to remove material from the new instrument panel to fit the new button panel
It fits!
From the inside
With the smoked acrylic! Ready for prime time!
Wiring by Daniel - his new business
Another panel down... I did replace the green 1" tiles with white
Little greeblies added to the instrument panel
Those little white squares shifted during drying... UGH
We cut PVC pipe in half for the light bars - the PVC will carry LED light strips
CNCd the lower nose skin panels
And the interior skin panels from ABS
The capstone piece for the back wall getting built
After fighting with the back walls for 2 days we decided to redesign and cut them on the CNC. Much better!
We then added strength and structural support to the nose frame
Volvo Panels are put back into position
Front window is now mounted in place!
Wayne worked his magic on adding the skin to the window
All the foam areas are getting covered up
Not a whole lot of room in that cockpit to sit...
The center console was getting lots of love as well! New front nose greeblies getting their LEDs
Building a speaker box
Mounted in place
New speakers in place
CJ working on the wiring for the instrument panel
Vertical Gauge Back Light Panels
Eric was a HUGE help with these gauge panels
More wiring...
We've been studying ESB to get the correct flash pattern down for each panel
Jessie and I worked the back walls. They are close to being finished. We'll probably add a few layers of primer then paint before going back and adding filler - still up in the air
Capstone needs a bit of trimming
Interior shot
Back walls are mounted to both the body and the door frame
This panel fought me the entire way!
The old door track fit perfectly. Not sure if we'll use it
One of the Vertical Gauge Displays back lit
Let's get this nose skin in place!
Look how much platform we get to remove!
The final beauty shots...
There aren't enough words to express how thankful I am for everybody who came out to help this weekend! Daniel, Jessie, Jake, CJ, Scott, Wayne, Barbara, John, Eric, Brittany, David... Thank you so much for all your hard work and continued support.
If I missed a few people I do apologize. Bad me!
More good stuff on the way to include a new original greeblie!
Stay Tuned!
