Did this thread get hijacked from the original poster and turned into another person's build thread? :lol

I didnt have enough moldmax 60 on hand so I'm using 30. I've used 30 for pewter in the past. It worked enough, so maybe I'll get a few pulls from it, maybe I won't. Either way I'm learning going through this process.

I love taking chances like this and seeing how far you can push materials. Can't wait to see the results.

I've been dying to play with pewter for a while now.

The first goblet I poured today was pretty sad. The pewter overflowed over the side, melting the curd I was using to hold the mold together. Once it melted, the mold opened a bit, allowing the molten pewter to flow out of the sides.

The second pour didn't work perfectly because the mold cooled down the pewter too quickly. I'll improve that by pouring at a higher temperature, preheating the mold more, and adding a riser to the mold to increase pressure. I feel confident enough to produce these and will start an interest thread.

Looks great so far, pop in a link to the interest thread, I'll definitely be putting in for two of them. (Now were did I put that research on antiquing pewter.......)
