Painting the x-wing 1/24 studio scale revisited

Hello, everyone
A lot of people have asked Rodmart and me, trough PMs or emails, how we had achieved the painting job on the Revisited X-Wing prototypes we'd made; well, it was really a challenge, since our idea was to replicate the job done by the people at ILM in 1975-76.
First, we matched the PACTRA paint color, but it was too white for us so after a lot of research, Rodmart came up with the idea of painting the models with a base tone matte black first and then apply the PACTRA color, we think the result is really good and it looks pretty close to the original X-wings...
Here's a video with the process and some pics
Regards! :love

Hi!
The colour "white" for the X-wing is:
1 bottle Testors ( Modelmaster ): Flat Camouflage Grey
2 Bottle´s Testors / modelmaster ): Flat White
And dash of Flat Yellow, red, blue.

The Base tone is:
Flat Black primer paint.

Oh yeah, I thought it looked a little camouflage grey-ish. Thanks for sharing that. It really is close to the color!

I love your "paint booth", set model on desk, face fan toward open window, turn fan on, spray model. If you photoshop an old warehouse scene behind these I'd swear they were from ILM.

Makes me want to break out my V2 and start building her now.
