Netflix Recommendations Thread

What do you think of Grey's Anatomy? Same show runner. Also runs How to catch a murderer or whatever it's called.

as far as "greys anatomy" I remember it on t.v. and wasn't really interested from day 1. I would rather watch "house" :unsure just my 2 cents... but one cent is super shiny!! :lol

Anyone who is a fan of David Fincher should really make an effort to catch " Mindhunter " . As with a lot of Finchers work there is some very grim stuff in here and to be honest, the conclusion to the opening five minutes of the first episode had me almost reaching for the off button, its that shocking.
BUT if you can get past those elements of horror its engrossing stuff. The production values, the characters, dialogue, scripts and direction are first rate and well, its my binge watch for the next few days.

DAMN! Just finished this. The soundtrack is particularly evocative of the seventies, it made me smile. Not much else did though. This is a brilliant character study of the darkest places of human nature. Until I read up on it on Wikipedia I really wasn't aware this was all based on actual real crime cases and the people connected to them and as such acts as the originator of many of the fictional serial "monsters" we have had over the years. That said it feels utterly like the original and fascinating study of how the FBI created its criminal profiling psychological division , and the lead actors (including the actress from "The Fringe" who I struggled to recognise at first ) are superb. Hugely recommended for those with a strong stomach.

just watched PATTON OSWALT : ANNIHILATION... He gets personal and I think he kinda "vented" his pain, as it gets alil dark towards the end, but I really liked it. 5 thumbs up :thumbsup

Yeah, at first I thought it was a real documentary but then I started thinking the way those people are acting it can't be real. lol

"Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrel" on Netflix. It's a 7-hour BBC miniseries. I didn't want it to end. Think "Harry Potter", for adults, meets "Amadeus".

I really wish there would be a sequel to this.

Not Netflix but HBO, I just finished The Deuce. That was a really good show, I thought. 1971 New York, dealing with the prostitute trade and the rise of early 70s porn. James Franco stars. Check it out.

Well, that's a shame but I'm going to ask another HBO question anyway.

For years I've been hearing about how great, incredible, superb and awesome The Wire is. Never watched it. Needing a show to binge on this weekend so I decided to finally check it out. I watched the first four episodes last night. So far I'm not seeing anything else other than your average run-of-the-mill cop show with about a thousand F-bombs every episode.

So, how many episodes do I have to go through before this becomes "The greatest show ever produced in the history of television?"

I'm not getting it.

Maybe never. It's personal preference. I'm the same way about Blade Runner. Some people think it is the best movie ever made, but I would not watch it again if it was free on Netflix or Prime.

I just got done binge watching Departures with Scott Wilson and Justin Lukach. I don't know why I started watching it because its a travel show, but once I started watching I couldn't stop!

Probably super late to this party but I binge watched all of American Vandal yesterday.
Crime, mystery, drama, and a whole lot of humor.. I absolutely loved it!
Who drew the dicks?!

We just finished the series tonight and I was surprised by how well made it was. The premise is intentionally moronic but if you can look past it, the show is a really clever and funny whodunnit.
