I really like all the versions you have done so far, because they were all well and each one expressed a particular moment. This too is beautiful. Difficult Decide. Of course it would be absurd to close your lips, canceling the existence of your teeth. To distinguish from the usual copies of Alien it is a good idea to leave your lips half open. it is only to find the expression you want to represent. At the moment I liked it all. if it were mine, I would try to lower the bottom one. But I do not want to influence your choices.

    Yes, I really like it!
For the pedestal, did you plan to make a volume of expanded polyurethane foam, not to use too much casting resin?
A volume of expanded polyurethane to drown in the casting.

The base will be a one piece solid polyurethane structure with reinforcing ribs built in, when I eventually finish the mould

I am very very impressed. The first iteration of the lips I wasn't liking but your revamp is perfect for the closed mouth. Not absolutely sure how I like it with the open mouth though. IT's good, but the open mouth should have a different set of tension on the lips. If you bare your own teeth, then open your mouth wide, you see the different in the way your lips are shaped.

The lips wont change but the tendons will be rubber & will stretch.

Question - Is the lower jaw 2 different ones? OR does it just slide down?

Its one jaw hinged so it opens & closes. The tongue tucks away inside when the jaw is closed, it then drops a little, slides out & the little jaws on the tongue also open on hinges.

Thanks for the feedback folks I've been working on the tendons today

I've still got to do the other side yet. The plan is to fettle these bits until they're spot-on & then make moulds for each part.

It took me ages to get a shape I'm finally happy with

So the next step for these parts is to clean them up a bit, paint them & make new rigid moulds for them so that they can be cast in rubber...

Nice updates.Love it.I think the difference between the coolprops and your Alien is,that coolprops is the dead prop head.Very nice but no life in it.
And yours is a lifesize statue that is catching a moment from the movie how the Alien lives.
