For lack of a better word, I am calling this a flight Jacket.

Thanks to some other members I have been able to compile some information for this jacket.

The picture above is from early on in the research. I know what all the patches are in that image.

There are also some screen grabs that others have posted that show the back and full arms here.

Here is what I have so far:

Apollo mission patches 9 and 13 cannot be found.
All other Apollo mission patches of 7-14 are seen on the jacket.

So two questions at this point:

1. Is there a third patch on the very bottom right front (similar to the placement of the Apollo 12 patch on the left side)?

2. What is the source of the base garment?

The Skylab patch is the program patch (not associated with any particular mission) similar (but not exatly) to this one:

Forgive the my picture posted above. I did that labeling years ago when I first started researching the the jacket.

Feek61, that particular patch as far as I know is not on the jacket. The one on the sleeve is a hard to find patch (there are a few places n the net that does sell them). It is one that is not offered in the NASA store. As you can see from my list, it has been labeled as the Original Skylab Mission Patch.

Great project. Not to derail too much, but has Steve's red tracksuit ever been ID's? I'd love one of those!

It's a White Stag Speedo tracksuit right off the rack. Unfortunately, White Stag doesn't make tracksuits anymore and it's a hard thing to find. The sneakers are easy though; Adidas is making them again, model number SL 72.

HA! Doing a search on the web for leads on the jacket led me to this:
FANCY DRESS HALLOWEEN COSTUME SIX 6 MILLION $DOLLAR MAN | eBay

Notice anything familiar?

You've gotta love eBay...

On a side note - that's the picture you got when you joined the 6MDM fan club back in the 70's, I wish I had kept mine!

Yes, that is why this jacket has been embedded in my head for so long.

I had a red track suit when I was young so I could be Steve Austin. One halloween I wore it and put the fan club sticker on my chest (the decal was the same image of the logo on the chest of the action figure). I believed I put the stick back o nthe backing with the rest of the fan club items. I believe I still have all of it somewhere stored at my parents house.

If it was me, I would be afraid my parents would have trashed or given it away. That has happened to me before.

The Skylab patch on the lower left arm is still a pain to find. Not sure if this size is right: https://www.amazon.com/Patch-vintage-Skylab-station-program/dp/B07BVY7Y61

If it isn't the right size, I can copy the art and then you can take it to a custom patch maker to get made in the right size. While I don't know any patch makers personally, I do know 2 people who do, one (Dan "lostncybr" Kim) can get you them made for free but you would only get as many as pay for. The other (Stich of Stich's Loft) can get a run made for you and they'd be all yours but you'd have to pay for the whole run, but you could offset it by trying to get people here to buy into the run.

I don't see what you see. Can you elaborate?
Never mind, I just wasn't looking close enough. At first, I thought the two pictures were shot from the same distance & angle, but now I realize that the bottom pic was shot tighter than the one above and you don't actually see the very bottom of the jacket in it.

The jacket came up in a SMDM-related facebook group I'm in and since it was either dive in or do something constructive, I did this -

The base pictures came from here - Steve Austin Six Million Dollar Majors Apollo - but I can't speak to the quality of the actual item. The pics were just handy.
That’s pretty cool. Too bad they don’t have all the patches on them. I can’t tell if the patch sizes are the appropriate size and not the smaller version. Neat find.
