Terminator: Genisys

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Dont believe the hype, that was Roland Kickinger with some terrible CGI Arnold face replacement for publicity. By doing this, they were able to attach the Arnold name to its release. It wasnt needed in any way as Roland got into the shape of his life. The production seems to have done everything possible to keep his unaltered image from the film and behind the scenes out of public view. This included cutting T800 "Arnold" scenes down to a minimum. There are snips of some scenes, minus his face, online such as when he rips the T600 arm off and picks the gun up from the ground and even some not shown with future technology and Endo rifles. If you ever meet Roland, ask him. The guy got duped and swept under the rug. Id be shocked if he stepped back in for T5 unless its the chance to actually work with Arnold.

Oh i know it was a cgi head on the other guy's body but it still looked better to me than some of the stuff in Tron Legacy lol. I think it's because the mouth didn't have to move.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Well, it would be nice to have Arnold back in the series. But I doubt he would work as a Terminator. Have him be a human resistance fighter or something. Hell... maybe someone John Connor even looks up to, because of his past experiences... then when you go back to watch the first movie... you'll get the tragic sense of irony.

However, would prefer the franchise came back to James Cameron before it is further destroyed all to hell.

That is the only thing I see really working, he is a human, his age isn't a factor, he just happens to be the human they based the likeness on for whatever reason, got his DNA or he was captured once or something, or descendent of that Candy guy if they want to leave it sort of canon.

Anyways, I know that my friends and I want that future war that was dark, nasty, we almost lose and ends with the time displacement chamber events.
We want classic HKs like in the first film. We want to see Conner teaching them to storm the wires of the camps and smash those metal muther ****** into junk! :lol

The last one wasn't even close to that, at least it didn't elminate it from happening, it was all unneccesary mediocre back story.

I hope it can happen, but I suppose it will get way off track from that again.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Yeah, if he's the human "template" for Terminator robots, I guess I could kinda swallow that...if I had to...it's not too stupid...I suppose :unsure

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Well, they had to get the templates from somewhere... and they did have concentration camps with steady access to new specimens.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Sgt. Candy is about as much craptacular comedy as the series should never have suffered.

As a standalone cut scene joke, its hilarious. If they actually would have left that in T3 it would have been WAY worse than it already was.

As I said in the TSCC thread, I want a dark movie, a movie that is so damn depressing you want to off yourself in the theater. All dark, none of this daytime sneaking around crap, they said in T1 that you can only move around at night, during the day is like instant death. I want that for either 1 entire movie or 3/4 of one, with the final scenes/sequel being John and Kyle storming the gates, finding the time displacement chamber just after the first goes T-101 goes back and then Kyle goes through with some dramatic scene of the son sending the father back in time to make him, and to die.

Have Arnold as an older Candy if you really want to follow that story, show him as one of Johns soldiers or an advisor or heck! Make him an environmental activist that agrees with Skynet and is helping them!

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

I think that Sgt candy scene was originally shot for the T3 video game and they tossed it on the dvd for the heck of it. I agree they need to do a film that ties everything together with it leading to the first movie. An older Sgt Candy could be made to work as an adviser or something like that. I know in one of the T2 novels sara and John run into the man the t-101 is based on and he's an anti-terrorist specialist that was in the news a lot or something. They also explained that the accent the 101 has came from the Austrian lead programmer in charge of helping skynet "learn".

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

If he's going to do that he's going to have to do a crash program to get back into shape. I was shocked when they showed him on tv at the beach. I'd rather see him do a sequel to True Lies. That would be funny with him and Tom Arnold as older spies.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Awesome! If Arnold returns ripped at age 63 that would be epic. I don't want to see no CGI Arnold. That would defeat the purpose of him returning. I would much rather see him than anyone else play his role, he IS the Terminator just as Robert is Freddy.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

If anyone could do it he could.

If I am thinking about the same Beach scene that was before T-3 so he can.

Will he be like his Mr. Olympia days, of course not, but he can get back in pretty good form if he wants.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

I think his T-3 appearance was all cgi, body doubles, and padded jackets. Let's face it, massive steroids were involved in bodybuilding, and after his heart problems I don't think he'd risk it again.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Not all of it was CG or doubles.

He's been off the juice for years now like I said he won't be in Mr. Olympia shape but he could be in good enough shape to pull it off.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Not to mention a character age 60 doesn't have to, nor should be, in the same shape as a robot based on a 30 year old.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

The best part of having a future war film with human Arnold being captured is it would be a sequel and a prequel at the same time!:lol

Have Arnold be part of the resistance and get caught, a little time passes, John and Kyle go in to rescue their friend, discover the time travel business, they free Arnold, fight lots of Arnolds, a Terminator gets sent back, Kyle gets sent back, John gets out as human Arnold stays behind to sacrifice himself to blow up the facility.

May not be perfect, but there's the next film!

Excellent idee, and this movie could be a prequel to T1 but not set in the same future that t2/3/4 shows. This one could be from the original timeline that has john just be a resistance fighter that becomes the leader (no memory of the timetravels from t2 and sarahs talk in t4) They could even have Michael Biehn do the part as kyle by using the Digital ageing they used in Tron2.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

The upshot is, after a heroic battle, the troop are wiped out and ultimately Arnie's character is captured and used as a genetic donor to create the flesh elements of new line of Terminators...leading back to the first film. Closing shot, a warehouse full of classic Arnie T-800's.

Then as the machines are torturing Arnie's character, they force him to say words like "Ah'll be baaack" to program their T-800's vocal processors. :lol
