1/24 scale Colonial Viper MKVII

Hi everyone. Here are some pictures of my 1/24 MkVII Viper. She took about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to complete but I may still add a few more things in the cockpit. I'm posting here because while there is no studio model of this ship Frank and Moe are working on one that is in scale with the original series Viper model (around 1/18 scale) so that one I would consider the Studio Scale one :). I hope you all like.. The base is a custom base I made based on the Viper pilot patch. I added alot to the cockpit like a throttle, ejection handle, seat straps, a keyboard in between the pilots legs. I also seperated the arms from the body so he could hold the controls and I hand painted all the instruments and patches on the pilots arms. I really hope you guys like her. :)

Thanks for looking.

Honestly, I am not a fan of that new Viper design but...

I can say is you did an awesome job on that thing.
Built and painted perfectly. You should be proud of
that build up. Thats some great work. :thumbsup

Whats the length on that too. Looks huge.

HOLY SMOKES...

GREAT JOB CHRIS..

I wasn't a big fan of the MK VII's either at first. As a matter of fact when I saw it for the first time on TV,..I litterally thought to myself,"who barfed that up?."and " I hope their not going to keep this design for the series?."...LOL. Now it has grown on me and I LOVE IT...just like my vehicle's design grew on me before I purchased it. WEIRD.. :confused

I had no idea that the Frank and Moe MkVII was going to be 1/18. I always assumed it was 1/24 and never questioned it. So JM's Viper is 1/18 as well as F & M's MkII?

EXCELLENT WORK CHRIS...and a dude factor of.... DUUUUUDE.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you all like it, I'm really happy with how she turned out. I've always liked the design of the MK VII especially after I noticed the lower intake, for some reason that just really brought the design together for me :confused .

The only build up pictures I have are these, they are just the parts pictures and then some early weathering pics and a shot of the base before I installed the rods:

Oh yeah, here is the size compairason next to Frank and Moes Mk II and the JM MKI. The MKVII should be larger than them if they were in scale. As you can see the Pilots to the MKI and MK II are much larger than this kits pilot

Pilots: (left is this how this kits pilot came, right is Frank and Moes pilot....still haven't got around to completeing her.)

Thanks again everyone.

Chris

P.S. I can't wait to get the MK VII that Frank and Moe are doing so I can have a complete lineup in scale.. Also with the DeSanto Viper that I'm hoping will arrive soon..

My Goodness Chris. DUUUUUUUUUUUDE.

Thanks for the size comparison. LOVE your Vipers sir.

Awesome build... I too didn't like that design at first, but it has kinda grown on me. I really like the MK II design, different yet totally recognizable at a glance at the same time. :)
