Movies you hate that everyone else likes

Kubo and the Two Strings - the film started with some wonderful imagery and some engaging characterization - which was a set up to expect a story that was strange and unconventional - but, in the end, it was completely predictable. The plot "twists" were just so painfully cliché. Even the action was uninspiring - I think every single fight ended with someone lunging at a downed opponent only to be unexpectedly hit/grabbed/attacked from the side in mid-air.

I've said for YEARS my all time most hated movie is "Moulin Rouge"

From the first frame I was trying to get out of watching it... I kept getting up to leave, but my GF kept pulling me back.

As an editor it was a nightmare to watch... CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT... and now onto the second minute of film CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT.

That's funny... I guess I'm on the "that everyone loves" side of that one...

Please add me to the I hate 2001 club. Most overrated movie of all time. Great special effect though.

Weird...I watched the first part with the monkeys and was really digging it. But I started it at 2:00 AM just to see how it played, and got hooked.

When they switched to space, seemed a logical place to stop til I was more awake, but have never turned it back on...

But so far I thought it was great... interesting.

I hate that piece of senseless treacle so damn much ... and I LOVE musicals - from old Hollywood to modern Bollywood ... but Moulin Rouge was just a huge, runny, steaming pile of poo poo full of corn. I, too was with a date when I saw it. She was enraptured with that movie so I suffered just as you did. I want to slap anyone who raves about that movie. Gad! I hate it so much. It's a turd. It's a serious turd. I hate it even more because the number of fans shows how many people have no idea what a good musical or even good Bollywood is. Gad.

I also saw Moulin Rouge in the theater on a date.
She was as annoyed with it as I was and we both got up and walked out less than halfway through.
I despise that movie.

Avatar is in the top of my list...

50 shades of grey has to be the all time worst movie I've ever seen... to this day I never understood what the point to the movie was... love story? Drama? Porno? Horrible....

One of the few times I walked out of a movie was with a girl. It was... I think called Surrogates, with Bruce Willis? After about 20 mins, we started making out and I was like "wanna get out of here?" and we did. Paid 25 bucks for 20 mins of movie and a make out sesh. I never saw the ending of that movie, but man. The first 20 mins were awful! :lol

I love that flick

I actually loved that movie too when it came out. Definitely not the kind of movies that I go for but it worked for me. I think it helped that Obi-Wan was in it.
The only movie that I ever walked out on is Little Shop of horrors.

For me there are two...one of which I've seen mentioned recently in this thread, and the other I haven't...but I didn't look through the whole thing.

I've literally never understood why ANYONE would enjoy "Apocalypse Now." To me it was just...awful. Everything about it was mind numbingly boring. I just hated every second of it.

The other?

"300." I found nothing about it interesting, captivating, or good at all. It was one of the worst things I've ever sat through. There are quite a few movies that I think are bad but I give them a second chance to see if I find something that I actually like about them, but with this I found it so horrendous that I can't even bring myself to watch it again.
