The Dudes sandals.
So I was trying to find the dude's sandals from the grocery store, and what seems to be the exact style at Payless online Lot#: 088261 Mens - Dexter - Ambassador II Slide - Payless Shoes

This was me at a Halloween party on Friday night. Since I couldn't find the sweater in my size or a suitable robe, I opted for the closest match to the ensemble that is less iconic but (I think) got the most screen time in the movie.

Aside from my wife and a friend who accompanied us to the party, there was only one person there who had seen (or even heard of) The Big Lebowski and knew who I was dressed as. I suspected this going in so, even though I can't imitate Bridges' voice, I stayed in character as much as possible by mimicking The Dude's attitude (or lack thereof), body language, and manner of speech. Great fun seeing the puzzled expressions on people's faces while they tried to figure me out! :cool

For anyone who might be interested, 80stees.com now has The Dudes Sweater available. It's not made by Pendleton and it might not be 100% accurate, but I think it looks pretty durned close; certainly closer to the original than Pendleton's current "Dude Shawl Cardigan".

Yeah, I thought it was kinda' pricey myself. I could see maybe $75-$100 considering it's a knock-off, but I'm sure they're trying to cash in on the sweater's current popularity/demand and perhaps trying to be competitive with evilBay's prices for the real deal. Or they worked a deal with Pendleton to use that specific pattern, in which case I can see inflating the price to cover licensing. Or both.

Yeah, that is crazy, $200 for the sweater? I've only invested about $140 into my two sweaters, one off ebay, and another being knitted for me! But, I suppose if you don't feel like dealing with ebay, this is a pretty easy option, and it looks good.

Wow, that is pretty good. I have noted that in the last year or so the real ones have really gone up on ebay by like another $100. I did see that somebody snagged an XL in perfect condition for $29 on a "buy it now" in December. The seller did not know what they had, did not mention "Lebowski" in the description, just Pendleton. Thanks for the link...!

I got my "DUDE" Bowling shirt, and wig from the "80's tee shirt" web site for Halloween... also got three of the Dude's t-shirts. It's so much fun to wear, it has become my "lucky" poker shirt during casino live games. Funny part is... people call me "Art" at the poker table, and nobody has ever noticed that I'm wearing a movie prop.

Bummer. I've only seen one XL (my size) on evilBay before, and it had more holes in it than a block of swiss cheese. :unsure

Well, I got my sweater that was being knitted for me.

That’s me in the sweater, with the sleeves rolled up.

I had the lovely lady knitting it for me do the 2xl pattern, as that’s the size I normally wear being a big dude (6’2” 255 lbs) but this thing is huge! Just gargantuan!

On the plus side, it can be used as a Big Lebowski Snuggie.

Any really big Achievers out there looking for a sweater? I'd put this at probably about a 4XL, all it needs is a zipper, if you're interested, shoot me a PM.
