Death Star ? My kind of wall decoration

There is a blank space above the stove in a living room.
It was used to cover with the brick tiles but one day (many years ago) it fell down suddenly.:eek

I had discussed with my Highness the plans and estimated cost.
We have agreed with the total JPY 5000 to 8000. about 45 to 75 USD.

OK, Lets start.

I choice MDF for the material.
That is light, stiff, solid, easy to craft and cheap.

I went to the large DIY shop and bought three 5.5 mm thick '3 x '6 MDF board for about 45 USD.
And they cut it for me one feet square.

To save the time, I fix the sizes of the parts as 3 cm 5 cm and 7 cm. All the angles are 45 degrees.

Paint it and plant some LED behind.
And put it up on the wall.

Nice to hear from you!

What an awesome decoration

It evokes the death star tiles, but it also stands on its own as a cool design

Woodworking now. Is there any material you can't turn into art?

WOW! Just WOW!

Nice job! To the uninitiated, it looks like an intricate piece of art. To us, it looks like Prop Art. It is still ART!

I thank you very much, gentlemen.
I haven't thought that I got so many pleasant comment for my little project.

Been busy again I see. As always, so fun to watch anything you make.

Thank you so much, Michael-san. Your ship is getting better and better every time I see it.
It's the most anticipating project for me.

Thanks for sharing! You always have the best eye for aesthetics!

EasternBloc-san,
Thank you very much for stopping by and giving me a wonderful comment.

WOW!..

That turned out great.

Nice wood working skills there!

Thank you very much, xl97-san.
It was a while ago when I work on wood craft last time but it's always giving me a big fun (and a big bag of sawdust:D) .

Really, really nice work -came out great.

Hi! Snow Builder-san.
It's always nice to hear from the great craft man.
Thank you very much.
My highness kindly gave me a comment that, the paint is a bit too light and flat.
And it's not fit the reddish blick below.

Now I think it's a good pointing out.

I will retouch the paint and try to think about the design to cover blicks.
And your gentlemen's opinion and any idea will be welcome.

And the Death Star theme continues! Fantastic craftsmanship. Yet another place for removable wooden TIE fighters and X-Wings. :lol

Even better now.

Well, for now, only this little shuttle.

The renovation around the fire place was done.
Set some glass blocks above the stove and cover the mantelpiece with MDF boards and painted.

Excellent work as always, and having the tiny shuttle next to it really emphasizes the scale (actual and implied.) And I think it matches the new fireplace much better.

I really like the flower pedestals. Nice job!

Thank you, Tom-san.

In fact, that tiny shuttle is a toy sold with candy or chewing gum.
I bought that STAR WARS series for about 3 dollar ten years ago. :D
