Puff painting a Superman from DOJ - hand pain

Hey there! I recently bought this suit from Zentai Zone http://www.zentaizone.com/authentic-man-of-steel-superman-lycra-zentai-costume-p-940.html

Had them do it without gloves or cape, will be making my own cape. Should have asked for the neck bit removed, as they did make it with that, but will just make alterations myself. I found the suit was a bit plain compared to the movie obviously, so decided to puff paint it to get the texture and shiny look. So far it's a huge improvement, but I've run into a bit of a problem. The back of my hand tends to cramp a bit between the thumb and index finger, where the thumb attaches to the hand as I squeeze the puff paint bottle. And last night that area had pain as I was going to sleep.

I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue while doing something like this, or if anyone can recommend a way to mitigate it, I've still got about half the suit to do and would rather avoid giving myself a lasting injury.

Having done this for a Superman costume myself, my advice is to regularly take breaks and stretch/massage the hand that you are using for applying the puff paint. Rushing or a cramp while you are trying to do something this specific will be way more frustrating than the wait. Proper relaxation and relieving any strain on the hand will ensure that it shouldn't be a problem long term.

You're absolutely right. I've found that even 5-10 minute breaks when the cramping starts helps a lot, as well as stretching between sessions. Also found that the pain mainly starts when I get to about the last 25% of the bottle, so I've been cracking new bottles open earlier, which has helped a lot.
