Show your Dr. Who props!

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Are you close to France?
Seems I recognise this mandalorian armor?!

Here is the beginning of my collection:a eleventh doctor "death of the doctor" season 5.

A topman lightblue shirt, with black buttons

A topman dogtooth pattern skinny chinos, not sure about some "theories" about white or silver button, ook a look at the episodes,I think there are at least 3 topman trousers during season 5

The jacket,quite good tweed,good lengh,shoulders and sleeves,good pockets.
I may have to reduce the chest and waist, but after looking hundreds of jackets, not sur I will have to do modifications, because I ALWAYS see same measurment ratio...

The boots,size 10 UK,I am 9,but it's so difficult to find them,even a little bit too big...

And the mark 7 universal remote:

Seems it's the best available version for the moment.
I think I will machine all the parts myself, using it as a model.
then,I will drop all electronics inside "my" hilt.
I am not sure about the effects on the base of the claws, kind of crossed lines.
Seems they are not on all versons, don't know.
I found screenshot or picture, and seems the metal is sometimes plain, sometimes with crossed lines.[/QUOTE]

they should have the knurling pattern this pic is from Nick Robatto the original prop makers construction

Thanks a lot!
This pic is very interesting!

Is it the screen used prop(means several ones in case of damages),or some replicas?

If replicas, means it could be available, and it would mean no need to make by myself.

If original prop, means, the original prop is machined, from aluminum and would bet on some copper, and seems, yes,as I thought, the black area was true ou fake leather, but with true sewing,so great!

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

okay so 100% accurate, because made by the same guy, right?
What about differences with the universal remote, except wonderfull materials instead of zamac probably?

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Those are replicas made by the prop maker. Limited run, $4,000.00 each, and sold out.
gorgeous!

Hope the dimensiosn are correct, because I wanted to machine the parts from copper, aluminum, and leather

Yes, 100% accurate. The remote is awesome, but there are many minor areas that are not correct on it. A few tweaks were ma to make it fit the remote innards. I would say it is about 85% to 90% accurate to the prop.

i think this pic illustrates the differences best, there should be brass rivets on the copper cage part (on the remote they are referenced with faux ones) the centre copper collar the part you unscrew to get to batteries is a different shape, emitter has a wider tip, the base of the sonic has a flip open lid to reveal a button, the rubber/leather handle is thinner on prop, white handle has a screw on, aluminium head is one piece construction and has a grub screw holding in emitter tip, i think thats the main differences.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Hi, random question of the day:

has anyone had a go at making a Dalek, using the 'Dalek voice changer helmet' as the starting point?

Thanks in advance

Could not resist this Tardis dematerialisation circuit when I saw it was available...

The picture is of my one.
I have also recently had a tweed jacket made, but need to get some elbow patches put on then I'll post some pictures.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Keep checking back. Gary restocks them in small amounts but fairly regularly ever since he made mine. So you'll get one. I don't expect he is done with them.
