Anakin Starkiller V2 lightsaber show-off thread

I agree, that clamp is really great. The whole thing would look right at home on an imperial arm rest. Great job!

buddy this came out great!! i love what you did to the clamp! and the pommel looks beautiful!! :thumbsup

Thanks for the compliments! Your tutorial helped immensely.

Man, that clamp was a beast, aging it took the longest out of the whole project. Roman's plating is tough stuff.

After a saberforge conversion last year, get the luck to find an AS V2 from his second run, few weeks ago.

Roman's clamp, slothfurnace's clamp card, Roy's lever and a solo's hold version stencil (don't blame me ... even if the size are not the same, it did the job :) )

Need to add the mistery chunk (dring has been add after the photos) and the gaffer tape.

Here is mine I just finished up using Halliwax's excellent tutorial. I used Aluminum black to age it after tossing it around in a bucket with some old tools to ding it up. Thanks to NickCline for selling me this as a package, he included all the goodies including the Slothfurnace card, Wannawanga lever and d-ring, Roman's clamp, gaffers tape, mystery chunk, and TrooperTrent stencils.

Spectacular build! I love how your clamp came out... well the whole build! I had the hardest time even making a mark on my Roman clamp. That thing'll survive a nuclear holocaust. Great photos too!

Anyone know a source for stencils on this? Would like my paint job as close to accurate as possible...

What version V2 do you have? Trooper trent is the original designer and creator of these stencils. He doesn’t make them anymore, but he is doing a new run for the new design.

You may be able to finagle a little and modify the new stencil to work on the old.

I believe I have one of the sabers from the first run. I may just have to go the eyeballing route, like we did in the olden days...

Can we say "late to the party"? I wanted to show this off while it was still relevant. I am signed up for the new run, and will make every attempt to make that saber as 100% screen accurate as possible. Once I had signed up for the new one, I took accuracy on this a little less seriously and just had fun and instant gratification. You can see in the third pic, where I used masking fluid instead of a "stencil", and just eyeballed shapes from photos. While the shaping may not be very accurate, you can see how genuine the paint chipping comes out looking this way.
